With that we know, or from what you've seen based on scrimmages and practices, what is your anticipated starting lineup? Who will be 6th man of the year for us? (Assuming everyone stays healthy of course). Also - I've seen Kyndal working out and posting on social media. Any chance she will be back for the season?

Ok I'll start even though I truly have no idea. Here is my best guess.

Barker
Ware
Rogers
Coulibaly
Bowles

6th man - Jones

So much talent. Idek!?

Where do you think the incoming freshmen fall? Kyndal? Do you think Jada is out for the season?

I'm to far away from College Station to have any information, but I am glad to see this thread! Can't wait for the season to start!

Kyndall tore her achilles so she probably won't play this season.

Jada is out for now, will we see her at some point? maybe, but also probably not

yes you will see more Janiah at the 5, AC is a capable 4 but MJ will get some of those minutes as well.

we could've used another C already but now we really need and extra.....badly

Why do you say we need another C badly? We have Ware, Barker, MJ. I wonder, if that's the case, why they let Roby go? Also, coach mentioned that both Kyndal and Jada might be available at some point so that's why I was asking. Kyndal looks good in her rehab videos. She's running and shooting it seems.

MJ is coming off an injury, and didn't produce a lot when she did play. The question for her will be is she ready to go and produce good minutes. Ware also has been very injury prone, so that's a huge question mark for her. Barker isn't a true 5. I think she's a lottery pick 4. I think there are huge question marks at the 5. But this team has length and athleticism at other positions to offset it

They didn't let Roby go - she got hurt again. I talked to her

Aw man that's disappointing to hear. Sad for her. Why isn't she on the roster though? Is she just moving on from basketball?

In Ware's recent press conference she said she is completely healthy and has been released for full minutes. I see your point though. We will see!

Ware- obvious starting C(injury history is still shaky in a conference where you aren't going to win consistently without an at least good level of rim protector)

Barker- Most talented player on the floor who changes the game in many ways but forcing her to guard opposing bigs because you don't really have a body to take that pounding and more importantly THOSE FOULS will probably lose us games. Janiah is foul prone and teams will target her to get her in foul trouble. You want her to be able to be aggressive in passing lanes and use her instincts to create havoc. Centers can't really do that as the last line of defense. (think Jaren Jackson Jr. on the Grizzlies right now without Steven Adams) She'll do fine at it but there will be stretches where the flaws in that ideology are exposed.

MJ: knee injuries are knee injuries you don't know what she's going to come back as after 18 or so months Against the size across the SEC even at 6'3" her build is more suited as a 4. There's a number of Cs that come to mind that just tower over her, Key(UT) Cardoso(SC) Kyle(FL) Del Rosario(LSU) Rice(MSU)

Both MJ and Janiah can play the 5 yes but they're are most suited to play the 4. We need a backup center next year not a fill in.

Agree with every word of this.

Cardoza's size is obviously an advantage. I recently listened to an interview with Staley and she basically said they will go thru cardoza on every possession when she's in the game. However, she followed that up by saying they are surrounding her with better shooters. She's just not as agile as Boston so it will be interesting to see how their season evolves around her.

LSU is the obvious standout in our conference right now. I hate to even talk about it bc the pieces they have are ridiculous.

Tennessee will be interesting to watch.

I look forward to being considered a contender again. Really hoping we see the team make waves this year.

I just watched the SC vs ND game and Cardoso is a game changer for sure. But I'm not really sure who would start at center but my guess is Ware
Here's my guess at the starting five at every position:
1-Rogers
2-Bowles/Jones
3-coulibaly
4-Barker
5-ware

I watched, too. SC started off slowly, but just dominated from about the 2nd quarter on. Notre Dame took it to them early, but once the SC guards got going everyone started playing better. Dawn has another solid team. They aren't as good as last years team, but they are solid as usual.

I think they're slightly better than their team from last year. While it's hard to gauge after only one game, they seem to have more depth and also seem to be faster and more athletic from what I observed.
