Anyone know if this is still on for this weekend?

I haven't heard otherwise. Is there a reason it may not be? I'm planning on going

Other than one email last month, the one with the Rice Barn flyer, we haven't received anything. Not sure about time, what our duties are, etc. Can you help me?

I've no idea! I'm just going to show up at the Cox-McFerrin entrance in the morning. I'm thinking that's where we would go in - but all doors may be open.

I have on my calendar that it is up on the 3rd floor until practice begins.

Forgot about that part - then we will probably go in the main entrance to Reed at the front to utilize those elevators/stairs

For those that attended, how was the event and what did you gather from from the team after attending practice?

In my opinion it was great. Many of the players walked & chatted with us. Everyone was very friendly. We did find out 3 are our for the season (2-ACL tears & an Achilles) so we will have 12 heathy players.

Having never seen a practice, it was all new to me. I really enjoyed seeing it. The men's practice team was there & in a scrimmage gave the girls challenges.

Coach said this is their 11th practice - so they are still gelling together. But our freshmen are FAST.

Jada is another - but I can't remember the 3rd one.... (Jada is having surgery this week)

With Roby gone and Jada out, does that mean we have only one 5 on the roster now?

Oh no not Jada!! That's a tough break. I'm hoping for a successful surgery.
We are going to definitely be a guard-oriented team this year from the sounds of it. Jada was our only true returning center with quality minutes.

Man, Jada being out hurts in the post. Looks like Janiah and Lauren will be playing the 5. In the videos ive seen, it looks like Janiah has lost a little weight and seemingly gotten taller. Like ive said in other post, the coaches are going to have to figure out an offense to maximize the current talent. Maybe a little 4 out 1 in or 5 out motion offense. Its going to be interesting to see what they come up with. I know coach wants to get out and run, but when the defense gets back you must have a set offense. My 2 cents.

Yeah those are good points. My concern is defense though. We have some good teams in the SEC with good post play (e.g. SC and LSU) and I don't know if Janiah guarding the opposing team's center is smart.

I understand what you are saying. Who would you use as a backup 5? I think Janiah may have to play within herself to stay on the floor because she will be needed.

I would think Ware would be the only other option at this point but then again we still don't know who the other player is that's out so I wouldn't be surprised if we see some zone on defense. We're thin at the 4-5 positions
