Our next coach needs to create teams and an expectation for this moving forward.

My concern with Kelly would be the Women's performance this year?! If she wanted to be considered then why didn't she step up this year and motivate the ladies to give Coach Blair a better record to send him off. Did she ask him for a chance to take the lead this year with his support and blessing to help prove that she deserves the chance....

Idk but after the loss to South Carolina coach Blair asked KBW to do the post game press conference. She seemed frustrated yet measured in her responses. I think they may have asked her two questions. The post game press conferences are getting shorter and shorter. Just like the the WBB forum for the last game. Not even 20 responses from forum members during the game. It seems as if the team and coaches are just going through the motions at this point. I hope we can win a few in the SEC tournament to get coach Blair over 500 for the year.

My guess is the vast majority of us where at the game and stayed to watch the end. I know I don't post if I'm at the game.

Maybe some of it, but I don't think that's it.

I agree about folks being at the game. I was there, and I also don't post when I'm watching in person.

Well hiring Vic would make his cult happy but drive away a substantial number of season ticket holders who value integrity and inclusion.

I for one dont care what your skin color is or being nice nice gets you. I want coaches who can win ball games.
Peace for Ukraine!

Or if you want a "proven" up and comer, hire Mollie Miller from Grand Canyon University.
Check out her record!
Outscored maybe, but never beaten!

She is just starting her 1st season as Head Coach of the Las Vegas Aces in the WNBA. Pretty sure she's not coming to coach the Aggies.

In fairness he said proven up and comer. I don't care what level it is winning 90% of your games is hard. She was D-II coach of the year twice, won 5 conference titles and took one team to the final four. Winners win. She's at a D-I program now that has really nice facilities and though I love BCS it's a big drop off from Phoenix. Someone in a bigger conference will make a run at her at some point and probably get a very good one.

What is proven about a coach who has never made a NCAA tournament? Her team's NET ranking this year is 196.

Are we really talking about D2 qualifications for the Texas A&M job in the SEC?

If she can become a better program than Stephen F Austin in the WAC, she will get a look eventually. Right now, the bar is low in that conference with the next best team being someone like Cal Baptist.

At D-II which is plenty competitive she's 14-6 in the NCAA Tournament. Her team went 6 straight years before she got the D-I GCU job.

Who cares? It is D2.

High school ball can be plenty competitive.

A good asessment of Mollie Miller in my opinion. I believe she would likely be willing to leave Phoenix for CS when her salary was probably quadrupled.

I don't think you read my post. The original guy said proven up and comer. She's definitely that. She has been to 6 D-II tournaments. She's been at GCU less than two full seasons so judging her outcomes might be a little premature. I said is someone in a bigger conference will give her a look at some point and may end up with a very good one. I didn't at all say, hint or imply we should hire her.

I think you guys are just trying to get Ross Bjork fired.

Hiring a coach with no NCAA tournament berths or NCAA tournament wins because she is young and blond isn't really going to work in 2022. In 5 years, if she builds a resume sure, but that is true of anyone out there. But as of now, there are 100s of more qualified and better candidates.

I think the question is, are we a program that a current tenured, proven, elite coach will leave their current school for? I'm not sure. I would like to think we are. But, again, idk. However, money talks and people listen.

And people think Vic is polarizing!
