Bull**** to be the 2 seed at all. But especially in the bracket with the number one overall.

Huh? NC St. isnt the 1 overall. They were a surprise 1 seed.

We are basically in the 5 overall.
Actually we are 6 overall. Maryland was 5.

As I posted we should have not lost to Georgia. The committee has it favorites and this gave them an excuse.

The analysts announced them as the overall 1 seed and then I went for a run. Maybe they misspoke or I just misheard.

OK. So is Baylor a favorite? Because they got hosed big time.

We are in a very favorable bracket and will play every game close to home. Many would say the NCAA played favorites with us.

I hope the team is motivated! In the quick look in on ESPN Gary didn't seem to be clapping too enthusiastically!

I like our chances with our team. I saw online some people were saying the right side of the bracket is weak.

This season there hasn't been a clear cut #1 team all season. There really isn't a team that I think is favorite to win. Any team in the top 8 can win. It's not like other years where it's one or two teams that can win it all.

When our players are making shots they are tough to beat. It will be all so enjoyable beating the #1 seeds like 2011.

Baylor got screwed a lot more than we did. IMO.

In a bracket as #2 seed with UConn #1.
Nah...Geno has covid...
My bet is on UCONN - and here's why

In 35 seasons in Storrs, Hall of Fame associate head coach Chris Dailey has been instrumental in building UConn into an unmatched national power with head coach Geno Auriemma. The duo has led the Huskies to 11 NCAA Championships and 51 conference titles.

Arriving at Connecticut with Auriemma in 1985, Dailey is the coordinator of UConn's highly successful recruiting efforts. The duo transformed the program from one that only had one winning season to an annual powerhouse, including 45 All-Americans, 20 Final Fours and six perfect seasons. Dailey served as the program's primary assistant from 1985-88 before being promoted to associate head coach in 1988.

Dailey was inducted into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame as a member of the Class of 2018. She is one of the first assistant coaches to earn a spot in the hall of fame. In 2013, Dailey was inducted into the Connecticut Women's Basketball Hall of Fame. She was also selected to the New Jersey Sports Writers Association Hall of Fame in 2002 and was honored with the NJSWA's Distinguished Service to Basketball Award. Dailey earned the 2019 Joe Lapchick Character Award.

Dailey has stepped in and served as a head coach for the Huskies five times, leading the Huskies to a 10-0 record. In 1989, she directed UConn to the BIG EAST Tournament title the program's first while Auriemma served a suspension. She led the team to the 1997 BIG EAST Tournament championship while Auriemma dealt with the death of his father. She filled in for two regular season games vs. Wichita State and Tulsa in the 2018-19 season and one regular season game vs. Oklahoma in 2019-20.

In addition to her coaching duties, Dailey is involved with numerous regional charitable efforts. She has served as an honorary chair for the Multiple Sclerosis Association's Connecticut chapter, the Food Allergy Network, March of Dimes-Women in Sports Celebration, Camp Courant and the Manchester Area Conference of Churches. In 1997, she was named the Connecticut Trails Counsel's Woman of Distinction by the Girl Scouts Association.

Prior to Connecticut, Dailey served as an assistant coach at her alma mater, Rutgers, from 1983-85. Before that, she was an assistant coach at Cornell (1982-83).

Dailey earned a master's degree in educational administration from UConn in 1999. In 2005, she was honored with the Distinguished Alumna Award from the Neag School of Education Alumni Society.

A native of New Brunswick, N.J., Dailey competed collegiately for nationally ranked Rutgers from 1978-82. She served as a team captain in her junior and senior seasons. As a senior in 1981-82, Dailey led Rutgers to the AIAW Division I National Championship.

Dailey graduated from Rutgers in 1982 with a bachelor's degree in health and physical education. She was inducted into the Rutgers Athletics Hall of Fame in 1992 as a member of the 1982 AIAW Championship team.

I like our chances. I've watched UConn play 8-9 times this season and they are definitely not the same UConn we are used to seeing. Appear very young. Baylor is looking good. Maryland is looking good. A&M is looking great. Experience should help these teams as the tournament progresses.

The tournament venue design appears to mix locations of all the brackets. If there is a spread event it wipes out the tournament...

After thinking about this a little more, I'll note what Gap said previously. A 1 is clearly preferred. But the 2 and the 3 are simply the other side of the bracket. It's still symmetric and the opportunity is the same.

Our team needs to look out for their opportunities and win. Six wins and we win it all.

Our loss to Georgia has been singled out as a key factor in our seeding. But I believe that even if we had beaten Georgia and lost to SC in the final, we still would have received a #2. In that case, an advantage we have over SC, which would have been the trump card most years, i.e., winning the only head-to-head matchup, would have been lost. Records would have remained the same (except we would have improved to 10-1 against ranked teams, SC stayed at 9-4). Reasons: 1. The Committee loves Dawn Staley 2. The committee wants diversity, i.e., doesn't want two #1's from the same conference. So, the committee came up with a new selection paradigm, i.e., going all-in on the tournament winners. I believe the only way we would have gotten a #1 was to win out.

But it does appear Gary and the girls are using the snub as motivation. Hope they have a great run.

Don't think any team has as good of 3 wins as NC State...a win over USC at USC, a win over
Louisville at Louisville, and beating Louisville again for the ACC championship.

If we play them, they have a huge advantage at the 5 position with Cunane who is a very good scorer.

Editing for the win. Note abrupt conclusion to last sentence...

" Worst case: Just like in the loss to Georgia in the SEC semifinals, something is missing once the Aggies reach the regionals. When things start to head off track, there isn't one player to step forward to take command. Blair can't light that spark and Texas A&M ."

Yeah - that was a bummer to read. I think we've mentioned that throughout the season. Let's hope we have 8-9 players hitting on all cylinders when needed.

In other news, OU's Sherri Coale has retired after 25 years and 3 final four appearances...

I saw that, I always liked Sherri one of the few from the Big 12 that I could say that about.

OU has the funds to go after a name coach. That league needs more teams to step up and be challengers to BU. The league isn't very good right now.

NO AMNESTY!

in order for democrats, liberals, progressives et al to continue their illogical belief systems they have to pretend not to know a lot of things; by pretending "not to know" there is no guilt, no actual connection to conscience. Denial of truth allows easier trespass.

Actually, I think it was the loss to LSU. NC State didn't have any bad losses. At least, they didn't have any losses to teams with losing records. Had we lost the game before to Ark rather than LSU, we'd probably be a 1.

It doesn't matter now. Go thou and win.
