How many championships has Vic won? He's been head coach since 2012. and according to some he walks on water. Vic's biggest ace in the hole is Johnnie Harris.
Until Geno retires, it's his world and the rest of us are just playing in it. Sure, his record isn't perfect, but it is pretty dang close. Gary's one title was thanks in no small part to UCONN getting upset, providing us a better matchup with ND.
If you want to do tit-for-tat, Gary has two Elite 8s in 18 years at A&M (including the Championship). Vic took over a bleh MSU team, and within 7 years had them in 2 Championship games and another Elite 8. And he has tu in the Elite 8 his 1st year there. So toss last year, 8 seasons as a big school HC -- 2 Final Fours, 2 Elite 8s. Plus another Sweet 16 for good measure.
At 60, Vic's no spring chicken either. I don't see him going to another school. He has all the tools he needs in Austin. The train has left the station and ain't coming back.
Our question remains when does our Hall of Fame (and 75 year old) Coach retire and how well will he recruit, especially against tu and Baylor, but with other good teams around as well, until he does.
