Just a little women's hoops news for you guys on a Tuesday night ... Coach Blair and his squad earned the verbal commitment of 2015 six-foot wing Anriel Howard out of Atlanta, Georgia tonight, choosing A&M over Arkansas, South Carolina and others. I'm in the process of trying to get her on the phone for a commit Q&A so we'll have some more information from her here in a bit either later on tonight or tomorrow.

FWIW...she is not rated in the top 100 by Hoopsgurlz for the 2015 class, but Prospects Nation.com gives her a #86 national rating. I trust our coaches to evaluate talent and potential!

There is a lengthy article on her in today's Eagle. She is the 6A Stae of Georgia champion in the triple jump.
She is her high schools homecoming queen. Her coach says she has an All American work ethic. She chose TAMU primarily based on her major. She is a 4 position player. Ranked 16th in the nation at her position by Hoopsgurlz.

I find it interesting that are last 3 commits have been from 3 different states...Illinois, New Mexico and Georgia. When Achiri starts, Maryland is represented and then CWalk from OK....then if Tori starts she is from LA...so our recruiting is pretty much national! We lived of that Kansas City connection for awhile, but seem to be spreading it out more now.

and that we have her high schoo; coach to thank for bringing Texas A&M up to her. Obviously
we must have moved quickly then and our academics helped!

There's an old interview on youtube where she talks about wanting to major in Journalism. Hope she's changed her mind and can find what she wants.
