WBB: Aggies hit 11 threes, wallop La Tech 77-26
It's simple math.
When a team hits more three-pointers than the other has field goals, it's obvious which side will be victorious.

On Tuesday night, a crowd of 4,248 watched the No. 25 Aggies (4-3) hit 11 three-pointers en route to a 77-26 victory over the Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters (2-4).
"Louisiana Tech, with three national championships, has a whole lot more tradition in basketball than A&M," said A&M head coach Gary Blair. "I was pleased with it. I said to the kids that this was going to be their first final exam. I think you could give our team an A-minus."
Freshmen Peyton Little and Courtney Williams led A&M with 18 and 14 points respectively and connected on a combined 8-of-10 from beyond the arc. Senior forward Kristi Bellock also had a complete night for the Aggies, putting in four points, three blocks, four steals and eight rebounds.
"It feels great [to have a game like that]," said Little. "My teammates were able to find me in the open court and I was able to hit open shots. Luckily, they fell tonight. Sometimes they fall and sometimes they don't, but we were able to knock them down tonight."
A&M started the game on fire, jumping out to a 27-2 lead thanks in part to nine steals in the first 12:26 of the game. The Aggies eventually scored 23 points on 22 Techster turnovers.
"We knew they had turnover problems," said Blair. "Their handling was not as good as some of the teams that we have faced, so that's why we wanted to put the pressure on them. When you can [create offense through defense], you get easier shots."
That tenacious A&M defense coupled with a horrific 5.3% (1-of-19) shooting percentage left the Techsters trailing 43-6 at the half.

The Aggies would continue the onslaught in the second half, growing their lead to 54 on a layup from freshman Chelsea Jennings with just over three minutes left in the game.
"We [try to keep improving in lopsided games]," said junior center Karla Gilbert. "Our goal is not to embarrass them or try and overdo things. Our goal is to always get better every time we step out on the court."
Blair was encouraged that his team showed the ability to thoroughly beat a team with so much history, even when his upperclassmen didn't have the best game.
"How many times are you going to win a game like that when [Kelsey] Bone goes 2-for-12 and Bellock goes 2-for-5?" said Blair. "But, we shared the ball and our transition game created opportunities. It was just a good overall night for us."
