California sophomore DeNesha Stallworth, an All Pac-10 media selection this season, has been granted a release from the school, her father Chris Stallworth told ESPN.com.

A 6-foot-3 sophomore forward, DeNesha Stallworth averaged a team-high 13.3 points per game at Cal this season.

"She has a signed release and we're communicating with some schools and setting up some visits," Chris Stallworth said. "It wasn't a bad break, it just wasn't a good fit."

Stallworth, a 6-foot-3 forward from Richmond, Calif., is planning visits with Florida, Fresno State and Kansas, but is also looking into other options, according to her father.

Simmie has always said the kid had to fit the school and the school had to fit the kid. Here is a very talented kid who had to make a decision. Wish her well.

If she ends up at Baylor, I'm calling foul.

They already got a MBB player from Cal.

If you are refering to Fresno, she is from Northern California. Cal is not for everyone and maybe she wants to stay close to home.

Yeah Rudy, I always tell parents and kids after I leave the press table don't pick a school just because of basketball because sometimes, that may not work out. Coaches may leave, playing time may not be there or worse, fans on the schools message board turn on you, you just never know. LMAO!

I spent some time on a South Carolina board last spring when Kelsey left for A&M. You should have seen the nasties posted about her - quitter, no integrity, too hard, too lazy....

There is some of that now on the Cal board I read occasionally too. Its sad. I'm with you Sim - a kid, any kid, not just athletes, should go where it is the best fit for them. Every kid can be a 'quality kid' in the right atmosphere for them.
