We are less than 50 years removed from the race rights on the 60's; less than 30 from Rodney King and the LA riots; and apparently less than 10 from this young lady's experiences. We have made big steps, but if you think racism isn't still a huge issue, you aren't paying attention. Content of character is still largely viewed through color of skin.

She is class of 2005 and the website says she came back for grad school. Luckily it seems that the poem was more an emotional one, as she seems to still have affection for A&M.

But who in the hell would put nails in her tires and piss on her porch because she was black? Please tell that is some townie trash and not students we are currently admitting into A&M.

Aggies like to think we're all classy, highly-moral individuals... but that's certainly not true. I don't think "are you racist?" is on the application to get into A&M so its hard to blame the admissions department. Alot of towns in texas have "townie trash" and some of that trash comes to A&M for school.
