Karla Gilbert has made for a freshman exceptional progress over the season, even to the extent of establishing herself a factor vis a vis Griner. That Miss Bone will be eligible next year, both she and Gilbert at 6-foot-5 unless they've had growth, and Miss B having been the SEC Freshman of the Year in '09, Miss Griner and her admittedly superior supporters will face a somewhat different Aggie presentation next year.
Colson, Adams, Baker and the practice standard's absence will be huge, of course. But it will be of interest to see to what degree Sydney Carter, who I believe an exceptional player limited only by her size, seizes control. I think of her as a Pekingese; small but will attack anything in her territory. Tyra the Great who has found herself and is the 6-foot wraith who appears consistently where the opposition doesn't expect her.
There is the 5-foot-8 point guard who evidently pops from all over the hardwood; Alexis, is it?, And the 6-7 young lady and another who might be the most advantageous of all.
This season's team is just now defining it's beauty. It might be mighty shiny before all is said and done.
