COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Missouri coach Cindy Stein has announced she will step down after the season.

The school released a statement on its Web site on Monday saying that Stein will "actively coach" until the team's last game of the season "whenever that may be."

The Tigers (11-16, 1-13 Big 12) have lost nine straight with two regular season games remaining at Texas and at Texas Tech.

Stein is 184-175 in 12 seasons with the Tigers and reached NCAA regional semifinals in 2001. Missouri hasn't qualified for the tournament since 2006 and is 12-50 in Big 12 play since.

Wonder what's not being said.

I'm guessing this is the reason.
