How long do you want to ignore this user?
I work for the government.
I will have 6 years in

Presently. I could qualify to be disabled and move back to being fully retired.

The question is I have a 3 year average of $108k. Would it be better for me to get disability and go home early or do I wait to Aug 41, 2027?

If I do chose the disability route, do I need an attorney who specializes in retiring and filing for disability?

If so I work in the Dc, Tysons corners corner. Could anyone recommend a lawyers from the DC area?

I appreciate any responses.

Thank you!!!

Yes, you should wait until Aug 41, 2027. I don't think they can do without you

Typical government employee response- mess something up and tell the taxpayers to deal with it.

Honestly I don't think it matters much. FERS is 1 or 1.7 per year for your first 20 depending on your job. Waiting until next August could get you an extra 1k/yr.
Doing that last year could be pretty easy though between the upcoming holidays and burning any remaining PTO you will really be working 3/4 time at worst.
