As many of y'all know, there was a GoFundMe account set up for me following the sudden passing of my wife of 25+ years, Casey, due to ALS. ProgN set up the GoFundMe account to help me out and named me as the beneficiary. He posted the link on F16 and on the Business and Investing Forum, because those are the forums he posts on the most. He shared the link with dermdoc and asked if he would post it on Premium and on the Aggie Baseball Forum. The goal that was set for the GoFundMe account was set at $7000 and thanks to the TexAGs community, the goal was exceeded in just a little over 24 hours. I have received a couple of emails from GoFundMe informing me that the money will be deposited into my account in 2-5 business days. I am overwhelmed and humbled by the outstanding amount of kindness and generosity that the TexAgs Community put on display. We always say that Aggies take care of Aggies. Those aren't just words. They are the truth.
The amazing number of contributions to this GoFundMe account will go a very long way in keeping me out of the devil's rabbithole of despair, depression and lonelyness. Casey was my rock and my best-friend. I miss her terribly, but I take comfort in knowing she is in a much better place and is no longer suffering from that terrible disease. I also take great comfort in being part of a community that takes care of it's own.
