What's your one best stock pick for 2025 and why?

Mine is AUR…self driving 18 wheeler system.
Why? I think it has a big potential market, and it should start hitting some milestone as it gets closer to transporting loads without a driver/observer riding shotgun.

I don't spend much time looking for individual stocks, especially on the high risk/hopefully high upside end of the spectrum. So I'm curious what some of yall are into.

For a tech stock, I like the P/E and Net Profit Margin. They will eventually turn out a decent AI product and put it in everything like MS did.

What is your criteria?

Are you asking what is my pick for an investment that could go up 500-1000% but is risky?
Are you asking for a stock that is pretty much a sure bet to rise 35% with low risk?

Google is an incredibly good stock pick for something that should do really really well with low risk. I just don't see Trump allowing the war on Google to continue, I think he will quietly ask the DOJ to give them a slap on the wrist. It will make headlines but all the google execs will love it.

Hard not to think Tesla will do well when the guy who owns it is running the US gov't. Musk already got permission to remove the incentives that keep his competitors in business while at the same time retaining his gov't contracts. He will exploit the heck out of his position. Add to that the fact that Space X is worth 10 times Tesla's value and it makes sense to be on board.

Last of the big boys with low to no risk is NVIDIA. NVIDIA has a 20 year annuity on their chips kinda like Apple had a 20 year annuity on their phones 15 years ago. Sure Apple had Samsung as comp and NVIDIA has a few, but they are guaranteed to sell billions of dollars of these chips a year, as fast as they can make them, for the next 20 years. Sure the best day to buy NVIDIA was ten years ago... but the second best day is now.

As for the home runs in 2025... you gotta look crypto first, AI second, and Quantum third. Last thing to look at... I have heard one of the big pharmas has pill based semaglutides and a next generation semaglutide that will be approved really soon. Pill based is a game changer.

I have a lot of AUR. Hope you are correct. They are starting to operate in Texas so we may start seeing the 18 wheelers going down the interstates. I can see the stock going into the mid-20s from around $6.80 it is now.

I think the SMR stocks will do great in 2025.

I also think UBER is going to do well. In 2025, they are putting in Wymo's fully autonomous vehicles in Austin and Atlanta and possibly other cities. For a number of years, they have had over 100,000 trips each week across San Francisco, Phoenix, and Los Angeles with few issues.

I really like RMBS (Rambus).

Quantum security play. Has not run up insane like many others in this space. Positioned great for revenue growth.

Good question…I guess I was thinking of something that has a decent chance to increase 100% and perhaps a sub 50% chance to drop 99%.

Can't say I thought it through.

What's the pill based semaglutide you talked about?

I'll have to look up RMBS. Haven't heard that name in a while!

I can't say bc it may be inside info on the semaglutide. I haven't bought any until I know the source of the info better. Just research the players, it is probably out there

So, some of these choices assume you're selling at year end?

Why don't you reduce the suspense, go to Vegas, Monte Carlo, wherever you can gamble & put the amount you want to invest on black or red? Your odds are much better.

I've beaten the S&P 500 seven out of the last eight years. I'm invested in tech, energy, and financials. My top stocks include AAPL, NVDA, COOP, XOM, AVGO, MSFT, ARM, and EPD. I also own QQQ and a couple of other ETF's.

Thinking of investing in FNMA, but not a lot.

Long term, (5 years?) hoping Perplexity goes public.

TSSI, you will thank me next December (add some of $10 calls , June exp if you want to juice things up a bit). When this gets added to the Russell 2000, institutional funds which track the index will have to buy.

Can you expand on why you are advising adding $10 calls that are in the money and currently cost around $6 each? The breakeven price for those is $16. I understand the stock has been on a tear and the company growing fast. They are made up of former Dell employees and Dell is their main customer driving their rapid growth. They are the main benefactor of SMCI falling. But what is the expectation for June that has you advising expensive ITM calls? Do you know something or someone with inside information?

Unless Trump reverses it, Google has been ordered by the Federal government to spin off the Chrome browser, Android, and possibly some of its advertising units.

I'm staying away from Google until that gets sorted out. I don't expect Trump to be a friend of Google since they are into censorship and are hard lefties.

My pick is Walmart. They still have room for more digitization and on-line sales. They are up 70% the last year.

They are also "recession proof" and I think we are in the beginning of one.

Looked up AUR. Says they are launching driverless trucks in Texas in April. That is wild.

I would love to know the scope of that launch; I have to assume it's very small scale on a stretch of highway that is short.

We all know it's headed that way but I wasn't aware it was this close.

Their model is to drive long haul routes from one "depot" to another. I think they've been running these trucks from Houston to Dallas for a few years now, with a human monitor riding in the cab. I think they're working on a Phoenix to Dallas route next. Part of what makes me confident is that they are just doing from one point to another and don't need to map out every single road in the country.
I think the driverless 18 wheelers are coming and there will be multiple companies doing it.

It's always been the easiest driverless use case to implement in my mind. Gonna throw some money at this on Tuesday.

WMT peaked at $23.42 in Dec 1999. It hit a low of $13.81 in Sep 2001, a 41% drop at the same time the rest of the market fell. It didn't get back above that high until 2012. It didn't sustain above that high without falling back below until 2017.

Walmart stock rises sharply leading into recessions. It's a timeless and true indicator. That's because the portions of the middle class tgat had been choosing higher end goods and groceries start to feel the pinch and are looking for cost savings without changing their day to day consumption.

Eventually, those consumers that were trading down to Walmart end up having to pullback their consumption. By that point, recession is either imminent or has already started.

Lots of potential upside in Micron (MU). The high bandwidth memory space is driving to a market which is becoming less and less commoditized. Secondly, they seem to have their operational problems sorted out. If everything goes as it is sort of lining up, there could be a big upside in the offing. I started a equity position recently. I am also selling the mid-term puts.

Tesla goes into production with their Semi product next year. FSD community tracker has a 85 -> 710 mile improvement in highway miles between intervention on the latest release.

Training compute increased 6x last year, and they have a new driving computer coming out before the production of Semi. Model size is expected to 3x in the next 3 months or so. Wouldn't be surprised to see similar jumps in competence.

DHL and PepsiCo did pilot programs for their semi over the summer and got 1.7 kWh/mile, which is likely a 50% reduction in fuel costs.

Sold all my AUR and swapped it for INOD awhile back. They've been talking about the self driving runs in TX for awhile.
