Money market income is taxed as interest, just like a high yield savings account. If you buy or sell equities or other investments, you will be taxed on dividends and capital gains. You can usually move money within a brokerage account pretty easily, but if you move it out (say to a checking account or another brokerage account), just be sure you are aware of any redemption fees or other transaction costs on your holdings.water turkey said:themissinglink said:

You can move money in and out of a brokerage account (not invested) and not get taxed on that, right?
