Thanks to a sale in my small family business, I'm going to come into a little bit of money and I'm not sure what to do with it. I technically have a financial advisor, but I'm not sold on him...he has mostly just pushed various insurance policies and I have an underperforming IRA that I rolled into about 10 years ago. Haven't spoken to him in a few years.

Could really use some good advice, and I don't know who to turn to. Any recommendations?
