Years ago my brother inherited one of my dad's companies in Houston and now he is wanting to sell.

Bro now has grandkids with another on the way, and a full-time job of his own so he has finally decided to sell.

He asked me to post the question here to help find the best way to go about this. Are there agencies/brokers, etc, that help? If so, any recommendations?

just fyi - annual sales around $425k and it's a 30 yr old family-owned glass commercial glass company.

Thanks

Just curious, is he involved in the day to day or is there a team in place?

I'd be happy to hop on the phone with him and answer any questions he has about the process of selling, as well as the pros and cons of using a broker vs. selling it on his own. Been doing this for almost 18 years now ... love to help any way I can!

Not day to day, basically just shows up and signs the checks! Pretty much the same thing our dad did the last few years before he handed off to my brother 10 years ago.

I'm an attorney who has helped sell a lot of companies over the years. I think a business broker is often an excellent idea and resource. Be sure to discuss the pitfalls of owner financing the sale. Good luck.
