Texas Capital Bank at 5.1% I believe.

You can only get that rate if you live in Texas
I've been using Bask bank, which is Texas Capital's "online" bank division. No residency restrictions and the same 5.1% APY.
Nice - thanks for the heads up on that.

Since we're throwing CDs at OP...

Forbright Bank has a 5.6% for a 9-mo CD.

Cash in a Fidelity brokerage account is earning 4.99%, and you can use it to write cash secured puts, so it's like double dipping.
wow

good to know, I never realized that as I have my private equity funds in Fidelity brokerage

problem is I have cash and bonds in my BOA account

and it's nearly impossible for me to have cash in my Fidelity and NOT buy stocks with it. even though it's just a difference of a click from the BOA account.

still, I don't trust myself to move a lot of cash into Fidelity and be able to avoid buying at the top right now

Note that 4.99% is prior to the Fidelity fees. It's more like 4.5%

I have a 12 month emergency fund. Up for debate whether that's too much but I'm in oil and gas and been laid off twice. It just accumulates interest now. Debating whether to invest this.

I necessarily wouldnt prioritise a large amount of your salary every month but I just put 5% over a period of time which can make a difference

You can prioritise a large portion to get to a 3 month and then lower it until you're at six months, and lower the portion again to get to 12 months.

Make it an auto pay/direct debit.

I'm keeping 18 months of my gross salary in emergency, if you want to get real debatable. I do have reasons for that and plan to work that down over time.

Same. Was going off of my last statement which was 5.54% but doesn't surprise me it's dropped a little since then.

Yes, Marcus by Goldman Sachs does the three month referral. If you use the link below, you'll get +1% for three months. Currently at 5.5% APY with the referral bonus.

I have about 60k in Chase which is a useless place for it to be but I use it to pay bills and college tuition. I will move most of it to SPAXX.

Geeze - gross salary too and not even expenses. Mines 12 month of expenses and I overestimated a little bit.

I feel like I can live a lot more and have more fun with my 12 month of expenses. So it's worth it to me.
