We're looking to get out of PC Quicken after a very long time with it. It's certainly capable, but it's been an overly-complicated beast for a while.

The only requirement my wife has is the ability to post-date upcoming expenses in the checking account ledger that will automatically be "replaced" when they come in. Does Empower or other financial management sites have that?

Transitioned to Monarch a few days ago and so far so good

It actually supports a couple banks I was using that Mint wasn't so there's a plus

I saw you can have other family members create accounts to look at stuff which looks useful.

In Monarch I have a mortgage through UWM and every few days it changes the balance from $X to -$X so the "Invert account balance" keeps getting jacked up.

Anyone run across this?

Yes, I'm having same issue. I submitted it to monarch support.

Oh ***** Today's the last day!

I opened a Monarch account a few months ago and downloaded my Mint transactions but had some trouble getting set up. Just put it off and now I need to hurry!

Credit Karma is asking me for my address and last 4 digits of SSN. Safe to give out?

Wow! Those service are EXPENSIVE. I've been looking for an alternative to Quicken ever since they went to the "subscription" model, but it's a hell of a lot cheaper than $13.99/mo and does basically everything with full control of your own data.

You guys should just go to the full version of Quicken.

I meant Simplifi.

Simplifi (a Quicken product) is only 2 or 3 bucks a month but they're offering a free year to Mint users.

There's always a risk involved with giving that stuff out and only you can decide how comfortable you are accepting the risk. That said, I've been using Credit Karma since long before Intuit acquired them and haven't had any issues. They definitely don't offer the same level of detailed budgeting that Mint does though.

Simplifi has a 3 month trial that they'll extend to a 1 year trial if you import Mint data

Trying Simplifi today
Trying that as well. So far it looks okay. Free for the first year (when you import data from mint) and the regular price is cheaper than monarch.

Where did you see a free year offer? I'm just seeing 50% off.

Never mind. I just logged in and got a notification that my free trial has been extended to Dec 30, 2024.

Just got Simplifi. I think I must've missed the discount for a year. They just have me 50% off for the first year. $23, not bad. A free year would've been nicer though.

Neat looking app if you are a Mac user. A little expensive.

Been using Simplifi for 5 months, I really like it. All these will likely have a learning curve

Also been a copilot user since their beginning and agree.

My only wish would be to have a website. Not the end of the world, but I do a lot of tracking and modeling in excel. I know I can download all transactions on my phone and email them, but would be nice to just go to the website on a computer and do it.

Only hiccup is they had issues with AMEX about a year or two ago when AMEX updated some of their security and the accounts wouldn't sync. Since been resolved, though.

Deal killer for me. Anything I use must have a website or desktop application I can get to. Otherwise, Copilot looks nice. Granted, I guess you can get to it if you are a Mac user but SOL if Windows.

Yes, its an annoyance and hope a windows desktop version is released. Other than that, the predictive budgets and adjustments off of spend and planned spend features is great.
