Am I missing something? I don't see anything on the Credit Karma app that resembles ANY of Mint's features.

I just opened Credit Karma for the first time in a while and it said "Congrats! Your credit score of ___ unlocked our new Cash Flow + Net Worth feature!"

Maybe you have to have a high enough credit score. Seems like a strange requirement if they want it to replace Mint.

I got that message, balked on entering my credit card info. And haven't seen anything since. Glad I stopped, because even if I had entered my info, I'd have no clue where to find it

Copilot doesnt have a browser nor does Honeydue, so they were eliminated from my search.

What does this mean? Does this copilot thing work only on an app? Not on a browser?
If not, then it's not for me. I am a big browser guy. Which is why I hate Offerup and go prefer Facebook Marketplace for selling sheet.

Looks to be Apple only. I guess that makes sense for the younger generations but its very limiting and a deal killer for many, obviously.

This is correct. Phone app or an app for mac computers only. Annoying. But I use the app to organize and plug my groups into excel.

Ugh, then no thanks...
I like doing my work on a desktop with 2 large monitors. The app is just to view numbers on the go. Manipulating things on a small phone screen is too much effort.

I mean I definitely see your point. And not defending them as I'd prefer an online interface for the same reasons you mentioned.

But the app is pretty solid. It's really easy to make your groups/categories and the system is good at auto applying things as it learns. So not like I spend a lot of time doing tedious things on the app. So not a dealbreaker for me.

I jumped to Simplifi. I think the user face is not as friendly, and it won't work with my credit card 2FA for some reason. But it does have a lot more capability with budgeting imo.

I've been trying out Monarch.

So far, it seems like a more powerful version of Mint.

Won't connect with my 529 for some reason, but liking it so far.

gonna ride Mint out till they turn off the lights.. but right now, Monarch is looking like the frontrunner for where I will switch to. CEO of Monarch was also a Product Director for Mint back in '08-'10, FWIW.

Keep us posted on how you like Monarch!

that makes a lot of sense that there was some overlap with the Mint team, as the interface is familiar.

Does it sync with banks/credit cards?

Allow for tracking budgets?

yes and yes

Unlike Mint, Monarch isn't free. I want to say it's around $100/year if you pay for the annual plan

I've been trying Monarch as well and like you said, it seems to be the most similar product from a user interface/functionality point of view. I've used Mint for close to 10 years and mostly liked it, but I've always had some issues with their category rules getting applied correctly. For the life of me, I could NEVER get Costco to correctly apply. I just found Mint to be buggy at times for whatever reason. Maybe, in hindsight, they didn't dedicate enough engineering resources to it.

I also wasn't able to connect my 529's either at first on Monarch, but tried again and it worked for me the second time. FWIW, I had opened another tab and logged into my account there before trying a second time, but I doubt this is what fixed it. No issue connecting any of my other accounts except one (which gave me a horrible time at Mint, too, so I don't think it's on Monarch's end).

I'll let y'all know what I think about Monarch during my trial over the next several weeks, but I have to say that it's somewhat of a relief to not be bombarded with offers and ads everywhere, so that's an initial positive.

Thanks for the tip... I'll try the 529 account again. I think it's a MFA issue so might be SOL if the provider doesn't play well with Plaid.

Mint always felt like it was under supported. Curse of the Freemium products in general.

If Monarch works like Mint was supposed to, I won't mind paying a few bucks for it.

Any issues with Amex with monarch?

My only complaint with copilot is the Amex link is a little buggy (have to resync it often) since Amex updated their security…..

I always disliked Mint but Monarch looks pretty nice and to be a great replacement for Mint.

so far so good with Amex.

I had to remove the "companion card" that it automatically synced because it was duplicating charges, but no other issues.

For the people that used Mint to track net worth, keep an eye on transactions, and get high level perspective across all of your (and spouse's) accounts - it looks like Monarch is the winner. I just finished setting up all my connections and playing around. I'll be keeping it and paying for it.

This is so disappointing! My wife and I used Mint separately for a number of years before combining our accounts together on there. We used to use it to budget everything every month to keep us in check.

So we use it more to track spending categories and Net Worth as we kind of have a handle on our spending already. So sad to see this go and will definitely be looking for a replacement!

I also love the category workings on Mint to build a year end financial report for our family.

Managed to get my credit card linked up to Simplifi! Issue was my CC requires you to go in and open access to third party apps for a 10 minute time period before Simplifi could connect.

I'm liking Simplifi more and more. It's paid, but it's only $35 for the year. It's much more powerful than mint IMO.

Look at Monarch. There are better options than Mint.

I took the plunge and did the 50% off monarch annual pass for mint users. The import of 18,000+ transactions wasn't too bad.

They don't have as many categories as I used but that's ok - just had to combine a few budgets and we're off.

It has connected to every account we have except for our mortgage (which is finnicky in mint and personal capital).

It's not picking up "investments" from my personal capital accounts but that's ok. As long as it has the $ amount, I'm ok - I use personal capital to really track progress of investments.

I'm sure with time it'll get better at learning. Some of the rules/learning have already improved in just a few days.

Also very cool (maybe not?) that I can give access to my wife. I guess no more trips to baby dolls or the lodge.

signed up for monarch today. so far i like it, and i think it will do just fine replacing mint for me.

only issue is i can't seem to get Chase and Fundrise accounts connected yet, but will try during the week in case something is down for maintenance

I've been using Rocket Money. $10/month. It works pretty well with linking accounts (allows manual import of Apple Card statements). It has partner sharing too.

I haven't tried the bill negotiator yet, but apparently you can have them negotiate your phone and cable bills.

The app used to be TruBill

The app has been acting weird for me for about a week now. Takes forever to load up, sometimes not at all, and my Schwab account keeps un-syncing.

I've had Empower PC as a backup of sorts, for about 3 years now, so I'm about ready to cut bait on Mint.

I've been trying to see if there's an option to migrate to Credit Karma already, but don't see it anywhere. For now, I'm pretty much done with Mint.

The only thing I'll really miss is my budget categories, but it's not a huge deal since Empower shows me my overall monthly spending against my budget, which is all I really need.

Missed the mint news and disappointed like the rest of you. I think I joined in '09. I use the trends feature a ton to track our spending and income over time. Not being able to see 14 years of data is sad. Can Monarch pick up all that history from Mint?
