I managed three accounts, my personal and two of my daughters.

One of my daughters account will move to Schwab in a few days.

TD promped me to setup a Schwab account and I was able to use the same ID and password for her.

Have to setup new login on Schwab, should be a link on your current TD to do so.

Had an unauthorized trade on a dormant TD Ameritrade account recently and want to see if this makes sense to anyone.

Account had $0 balance at the time of the trade but TD Ameritrade initiated the sale of 3 shares of stock I don't own but had previously owned several years ago. This puts the account in negative cash balance / cash debit call by a nominal amount. Less than $50 or so.

TD people say that the transaction was initiated as a "MANDATORY REORGANIZATION FEE' as reflected on the balance sheet as initiated by TD Ameritrade.

TD people agreed to 'put in a request' to recredit the account. So outcome is still up in the air but sounds like they may have ****ed up. We talking less than $50 here.

Anybody ever hear of this?

Im not too keen on brokerage firms executing trades on my behalf selling shares that I don't own. You know, as a matter of general principle.

In any event. Heads up on this issue to anyone using TD.

Sounds sketchy as hell

I had two TD accounts transition to Schwab Roth and traditional IRA. Have seen nothing like what you describe

I'm involved with a TDA account that moved to Schwab for my HOA. We needed to change who can make trades, view the account, etc, they made us come into a branch to do so. We grabbed all the folks up and went into a branch,no appointment just like they told us to do, the branch said "...they always make us do this stuff and we're not staffed to do so..." We completed all the paperwork, added a set of minutes like they asked, now I can't log in, nor can anyone else. This is a mite strange.

They fixed this after I called but still no explanation about what the hell happened.

Sounds like a one off deal unless somebody else has seen this

Probably close the account now for good measure.

Don't need a brokerage firm randomly executing trades and me having to call to figure it out. wtf.
