Yep, it takes about 30 seconds to fire up. Very occasionally it will drop out. Unplug/replug and 60 seconds later we're back up and running.

Still less annoying than the factory option.

He said that because women like my sister-in-law will take it as a challenge and "show him" by buying the car right then and there for the asking price without negotiating and get ripped off. Your salesman assumed that he had lost the sale and was making a desperate attempt to anger you into "showing him" and buying on the spot.

The best salesmen tailor their sales pitch to the mark. If a single female walks in to buy a car, she's either niave and will become a huge payday for him, or she's capable and competent and he won't be making much money on her (if any). When you walked out after the husband question, you showed him that you were the latter. He doesn't care because he wasn't going to make much off you anyway.

That may be true this year, but traditionally that is the worst time because you are competing with Tax refunds.

Unique to this year. Traditional best time is last couple of weeks in the year. This year new car supply is about to bounce back increasing car inventory of both new and used.

as of yesterday, a MAZDA monthly payment was costing more per month than my last BMW!!

Side note: a friend in the business says the auction market is on fire right now. Won't be long for buying season.
