A metric tonne is 1000 kilograms. It's more than 2000 lbs which is a US Ton. Neither is to be confused with a British ton.

Must have been a futures buy with offload going sour. Seems like a huge amount of strawberries, so possibly it was an attempt to corner the market. Agree it sucks we won't get the back story.

He told me. It's not that interesting. I just can't store that quantity.

Try Goodpop in Austin (frozen popsicles made with real fruit) or call Hardie's, Brother's Produce, etc in Houston and make a deal with them to move the product. Unfortunately I have no contacts there, but I imagine you can use contact info on their websites. There will likely be some requirements to prove traceability (where the product was grown/frozen/packed), provide storage temp records, etc to prove the safety of the product.

Wow, put this one up there with the guy trying to sell (or was it buy?) a tanker of oil, or the guy trying to move trailer loads of TP.
