I have this same USAA limitless 2.5% card and I am in the market for a new one since this is going away.

I am also getting a full roof replacement through insurance soon and have opportunity to spend lots of $$ on a fresh card. I am looking to maximize a new membership / welcome bonus. Anyone have a recommendation for a great initial offer bonus card going on?

I am active military so can get several (but not all) card fees waived. I already have Amex Platinum for some great travel / everday perks.

I don't typically fly a particular airline. Looks like top cards with initial bonus are the
AMEX Delta Skymiles Reserve with 50k bonus miles (and lounge access) or the chase Sapphire Reserve/Preferred with 50k-80k points. The Chase cards seem better for rewards after initial bonus. The Capital one Venture does not waive fee's.

Is there anything big I am missing? Thanks!

I'm currently running this USAA card.
I haven't seen any notices that it's going anywhere...

if you're spending decent money on either/both of those main categories...I think the Amex Blue Cash Preferred would be the way to go

Wells Fargo Propel is free and gives 3% cash back on restaurants plus anything even peripherally related to travel: hotels, flights, Uber/Lyft, airbnb, gas, and car rentals. They also let you redeem your points for gift cards that are frequently discounted by 10% (so 90 bucks gets you a 100 buck gift card). Finally, the rotating extra points deals are usually crap, but they'll drop in a few good ones a year that award another 60-70 bucks each. It's pretty great for a free card; I probably get 400-500 of extra cash a year.

We do Walmart pickup for 90% of our groceries. Have a Capital One Walmart Rewards which has 5% cash back for all pick up orders.

Is there a limit?

none...

We use that for Walmart...

And Amazon's card for 5 percent back from them too..

Currently use double cash for most other purchases.. Do use discover for whatever rotating 5 percent back they are doing.. Lastly penfed.. Which gives effectly about 4.5 percent back in points back from gas purhases...

USAA sent me a plastic yeti knockoff to appreciate my business after they reduced the cash back credit. Can't make this stuff up.

I'm a Bk of Am preferred client, requires +$250K on deposit somewhere within BoA, Merrill accounts will do. I paid my property tax with points from my card with them, and I have a big house.
3% cash back in the category of your choice, 2% cash back at grocery stores and wholesale clubs and 1% cash back on all other purchases.
I also have a Costco card so I can use their gas stations and an American Airlines Advantage so I can travel cheaper. It's a game.

don't you have to pay 2% or so in credit card fees to pay your property taxes online? I would be surprised if the county just ate those fees.

If you are BOA Preferred you should get the Premium Rewards Visa, 3.5% on travel and dining, 2.6% on everything else. Charges $95 a year but you get a $100 travel credit that you can just go buy an airline gift certificate with so essentially it is free if you take a trip at some point. I think they also giving 50K of points as a sign-up bonus which is worth $500 cash.

I've got 8-9 different cards for different charges but this is my everyday card.

I got this same knock off cup this weekend too! I was confused at first but then opened up the mailer with new card in there right after.

I ended up going with Chase Sapphire Reserve for now. Gonna get that opening bonus paying part of a roof replacement through insurance. Perks should compliment Amex platinum nicely.
