Is Chime a real bank or just a Russian Bot scam?

How long do you want to ignore this user?
Somebody tried to send me money. It said I could get the money without an account, but that's just a bait and switch. Then, when it forced me to get an account, it told me I was denied. WTH? They don't even have a phone number with real people.

I hope you didn't give out any personal information.

Some scammer opened a bank account in my name at Chime. I found out when they mailed a debit card to my house. I nearly tossed it because I assumed it was one of the typical advertising fake cards but upon further inspection it was real. Dealing with Chime has been a huge pain in the ass. They are making it incredibly hard to delete the account.

I also had someone apply for unemployment using my info so I'm assuming they hoped they'd get a check deposited in chime and cash out before anyone was wise.

It's my business partner. We did a test transfer to see if it would work, and it did. So he tries to send me a bigger chunk, but I have to open an account. I guess you get one transfer before you have to open an account, but they don't ever tell you this. Doesn't seem legal. So I gave Chime my info, and they denied my account. I question whether they are even a legit business.

I wrote them several times, and they pretend that they are answering as real people. The previous email was from Rachel. I just responded "Rachel is a bot." A few minutes later I got an almost identical email, this time from "Michelle." I would avoid this company like the plague.
