Any of you have experience doing your own QDRO to split your 401k's for divorce?

I have 3 401k's from prior jobs and a current 403b + DCP, surely it's not too difficult to DIY?!

If you screw this up, the penalties are steep. There isn't a form to my knowledge and the drafted agreement will vary based on the institution and state, making mistakes hard to avoid. This is an area I would never consider DIY, unless you already had specialized knowledge in this field.

ETA: I'm not an attorney.

ugh, not what I wanted to hear Casey. But thanks for the input. I have done just a little research and all I've found out is what you mentioned, that each plan is different and I would have to have each Plan Administrator send me a sample of one of their QDRO's.

The lawyer recommended a company that does it for you,.... $500 per plan!
I can work it so that only two plans need QDRO so that's $1000. What a ripoff!!!

Sadly, divorce is never cheap.
