After all the data breaches my wife & I recently decided to freeze our credit. We have two young children and when freezing our credit on each site I saw that they offered credit freezes for minors.

Have any of you guys/gals that have enacted a credit freeze for your credit also set one up on your children? Any downside to it?

No downside assuming you're not going to be taking out loans or signing your kids up for credit cards. The freezes are just an added security measure. Won't hurt them. I'd suggest just opening a savings account for each before you do though just to begin some account history for them.

My parents did this for me when I was a teenager. I was added as a user on their AMEX and by the time I bought my first car when I graduated from A&M, I had a pretty good credit history.
