Credit Card Roulette

Saw a specific CC (CSR) thread on the board and got me wondering if I am maxamizing my value. First off, I have the following cards;

AMEX Blue Cash - our primary card

Chase United Plus Club - use sparingly and primarily got to have United Club access and Premiere Access. I think I am about to drop it because the Club has gone down hill and when I'm at IAH I can hardly ever find a seat. I'm going to re-qualify for Silver status so I think I cover off the other benifits, unless I am missing something?

Chase Southwest Visa - use for some bills and random purchases. A points builder card.

We never carry a balance and really only use the cards for rewards.

I travel for work but am forced to use our Corp AMEX with no points. As for personal, the wife and I go on probably 2 trips a year and 1 with our two boys (under the age of 6).

Should I be looking at other card options and/or canceling the ones I have? Thanks!

This isn't the CC roulette that I thought you were referring to.

Can you hit a $4k minimum spend in 3 months?

Do you prefer cash back or travel perks. The CSR 100k offer and its perks are hard to pass up, even if you cancel or downgrade it before the one year mark.

$4K won't be a problem.

Ive been a mix between cash back and points honestly. I will probably keep using the AMEX at grocery, gas, and pharmacy and then everything else points. Curious on what people think I should do with my existing Chase cards.

I'd probably keep the SW card and drop the United Club card down to a no fee car (freedom unlimited, etc)

Then sign up for CSR ASAP for you and your wife, bank the points and travel credits (maybe can still get them for 2016) for a year then re-evaluate.

Cancelled my AMEX Blue Cash after the card got compromised twice, then work AMEX got compromised. Talked to others who have had similar issues. Don't know what their problem is.

I loathe AMEX Travel, will be glad when the old farts in management that insist on using it retire or die off.

I hear you man.

I am also totally done with chicken after hearing about some co-workers getting sick off that crap.

Maybe. I got instant verification and my card shipped two days later. If you get the card and buy your tickets before the last billing cycle ends this year, you can get the $300 travel credit and get another one next year all for one $450 fee.

Best thing my company did is allow us to use our personal cards for expenses. They also reimburse the annual fee for a premium card (Amex Plat, CSR, AA Plat) or an airline club.

Why can't you have your corp card earn points? Is it not in your name? I used to

First, you're doing it wrong. Credit card roulette is supposed to include different people's cards, not just a bunch of yours. Here are some rules to abide by:

1. Credit Card Roulette must be agreed to by everyone sitting at the table before the meal (or strippers) are ordered.
2. Everyone feasts as if it's their last meal (or stripper).
3. When the bill comes, put each person's credit card in a hat and have an impartial party draw them out one by one*.
4. Drama builds as each card is pulled out and that individual is free from the bill.
5. Sadness encompasses the poor sap who gets the bill; bonus points if he calls his wife in front of the group to explain how lucky they are to have just acquired a few thousand CC points.

*Boring people might have the first card pulled pay the bill. Lame.
