Trammell S. Crow, philanthropist and founder of Earth Day Texas, was honored as the first recipient of the Public Health Hero Award from the Texas A&M Health Science Center's School of Public Health. His influence and involvement in supporting key environmental initiatives has made a significant impact in our world.

"I am thrilled that this award is being presented to someone who has so much in common with our students at Texas A&M," said Texas A&M University President Michael K. Young in congratulating Crow. "Just like you, they are passionate to be a part of the solution and they truly want to make a difference in people's lives. Through experiential learning experiences such as those at Earth Day Texas, as well as opportunities provided to students at Texas A&M, we can continue to educate citizens on sustainability and conservation of our environment."
