problem with these etns is that the have natural decay. without wild swings in the underlying index they are all trending toward zero. You should never "hold" them too long.

i mean... hold onto the next winter storm is announced... I'm in at $9.10 so I would feel comfortable exiting at $11.

what makes you think $11 is coming? it may get down to $6 through decay before the next winter storm and it spikes to $8.

I think the data will be very weak this week. Personally think it keeps going down this week. Models over 6 day time frame continue to look warm. Late December/January models however look interesting and prime for a arctic blast.

i dunno, i just hopped on the bandwagon with everyone else last week

I bought at 8.95 Thursday. Got excited Friday while up 9%. Sold this morning breaking even at 8.97
I'm going to watch & wait.

I posted the above last Wednesday, in jest to Arson who I greatly respect. I know it finished below $8.50 today. I want to make clear that I am NOT buying and holding UGAZ at $8.50. I day trade stuff, meaning I'm literally in and out the same day. As noted these 3x etfs have tremendous decay so rarely do I hold them for more than a day; until they bottom out and change direction. I DO NOT try and catch a falling knife. I got more than enough cuts in my younger years to do that anymore. As someone posted today, this etf could go to $6 before it goes to $11. Daytrading, I will jump in and out of stuff, but I'm not buying this etf at $8.40 today and betting it hits $11 by the middle of next week.

Right now the bears are ruling the energy markets. My experience is the price always goes too far in one direction before it snaps back. Natty is kind of being run over by the oil bears, so I will not be surprised to see natty hit $3.40. I'm not saying that it will. I'm saying I'm not taking the risk that today was the bottom because this has been the bottom for most of the year now.

Please don't put money into these things that you wouldn't be willing to gamble in Vegas with. Short term trading can eat your lunch!

First off, I offer zero expertise with natural gas prices. I found the below article troubling concerning how UGAZ might be affected. I do wonder if DGAZ would make more sense now but I'm not willing to back up my thoughts with money at this time.

I got in UGAZ Thursday and got excited Friday. Today I jumped out when I had to chance to break even.

What makes you think near term forecasts aren't already priced in? You're trading futures.

Report is for the previous week's draw-down. We know this week's report will be lighter than normal as mild temps. covered S. and E. coast last week.

Tested $3.60 twice yesterday and it held. I think the floor has been found. I sold the remainder of my $2.70 DGAZ yesterday and after a lot of averaging, scalped my UGAZ for a small profit on Friday.

UGAZ just popped over $9.

Japan's weather bureau just officially declared an El Nino weather pattern. I'll be looking to scale into DGAZ on any NG pops.

The brutally cold winter that was expected is currently defying models. Regardless if it's El Nino or El Nino Piqueno, I still see it as increasingly bearish.

Been keeping up with this thread for a while and appreciate all the insight. Bought UGAZ at $8.85 last week and sold at $9.04 this morning.
