Picked up some shares a couple months ago and holding. I think this stock will be at $1000 at some point. The patience to hold though...

My coworker got in at $12.11 (split adjusted) and still holding. $4500 investment now worth $67k. Not bad.

Just checked some old statements and see that I tried to catch the falling knife on 10/27/11 with 15 shares at $116(14.5 adjusted) and another 15 on 10/28/11 for 75.73 (9.46 adjusted). That second buy is a 20 bagger when this gets to 190.

I sold about half in 2012 :-( but the rest has done me good

So many times I have held on to garbage long term and the stuff that goes on to 5x or more over a few years I sold for a quick gain.

It sounds intuitive, but if you're not willing to hold onto it for the next 30 years, why are you buying it?

It sounds like you're gambling more than you're investing.

His math is off.

NFLX was $15 at IPO. $10,000 would have bought you 666 shares.

A 2:1 split in 2004 gives you 1332 shares, a 7:1 split in 2015 gives you 9324 shares.

Those 9324 shares would be worth $1,714,310.64 today.

Looks like he's referencing price at time of the chart, which was a few months ago..

Either way, $1.7mm is 'more than $1.5mm', so I wouldn't say he's wrong.
