How long do you want to ignore this user?
In only one month that this board has been in existence, I've scattered plays like acorns. I'm going to go back thru while it is still a manageable task and find them all and post them here, along with the links so you can keep me honest.

Going forward I'll post my future plays on this thread so it's easier to keep all the nutty plays in one place.

I realize this is the internet and I'm not trying to surpress anyone's right to free speech or anything. But I want to ask that you plase not post on this thread as it would lead to eventually a ridiculously long thread with all kinds of distractions. I want to talk about my plays and I want you to talk about my plays, but I would like to see seperate threads started anytime anyone wants to discuss any of my idiot ideas.

Thanks a lot!!

And without further aduedue I'm going to go search and link my past plays.

My plays are only things I actually bought and sold and posted here. I'm going to try to post them in chronological order.

This was a buy at the close and sell after hours, but only 89% got sold. So I made $3/share or 2.5% At this point I'm still down $1,740 from the 2 trades and I still own 110 shares of TWM, which I bought for $120 and were currently trading for $123. Sorry for the confusion.

I'll go back and read my first reply later, but right now I'm worn out. That was ridiculous work. I would rather just scan and post my trade confirmations than go through all those threads looking for my plays. I'm sure I missed some of my plays as I have trades confirmations that I couldn't find threads for. Though I don't post all of my plays, so maybe I didn't miss too many.

Anyway if you find a missed play of mine, PLEASE don't post it here. Post it in my missed nuts thread and then I'll add it here. Thanks!

If you have any questions or dicsussions about these plays, start a seperate thread and I'll respond there. Thanks!

I think I need a nap or a drink.

If I wasn't such a crappy trader I could have made a lot more money off of this. I had the opportunity to buy a buttload of this for $29-30 around noon and I wussed out. I guess I'm just getting too old for TNA.

Thanks for not posting on this thread!
JeffHamilton82
How long do you want to ignore this user?
My sons like to remind me that no one likes to read a bunch of stuff, just give us the cliff notes. So here they are:

Date Security %Profit%
10/17 DUG 2.04
10/21 DUG 2.33
10/23 DIG (1.42)
10/23-27 TWM (0.08)
10/27-28 DIG 12.72
10/31 EEV 3.86
11/5 EEV 17.50
11/5 DUG 6.00
11/10-11 FXP 4.18
11/12-13 TNA 7.74

Next are trades I made that I might have posted here, but I didn't find them in my initial search. If they are found they will be added to the above list. Otherwise they'll remain down here under the "trades I don't tell you about until later because I'm tired of everyone getting better prices than me". Just kidding.

Date Security %Profit%
10/17 UWM 6.46 Bought for $26 and sold for $27.68
10/24-27 TWM 5.51 Part of the other TWM trade. I bought more on 10/24 for $128 and sold it on 10/27 for $135.05
11/5-6 FXP 6.14 Bought for 89.50 and sold for $95
11/6 DIG 6.62 Bought for $30.95 and sold for $32

Cliff Notes of the Cliff Notes: In 20 days, I made 14 trades and the avg. return was 5.68% and the median return was 5.82%. I rarely lose money, but I rarely make much either. I hold things 1 or 2 days (the 10/24-27 was a weekend).

Analysis - I need to do a better job buying and selling. Case in point, my last trade (TNA). I should have waited until noon today and bought for $29-30 instead of paying $35 yesterday and I should have held at least till the end of the day for $42+ instead of wussing out an hour earlier for $37.72. Bottom line is I need to go out and buy a new Magic 8-ball.

You can thank my wife for this or roll your eyes at her like I do. She pointed out that people don't really care about most of this info including the cliff notes. They just want to know how much money have you made.

I explained to her that everyone here is starting with a different bankroll and slightly different commission rates, different prices paid and sold for these trades and eventually facing different tax rates and that all of these factors determine how much money you have made. She just gave me that KISS look (keep it simple stupid Jeff).

So we decided to pick a starting bankroll of $10,000. Trade costs are $10 each way. And we agreed not to deal with taxes until January. So I went back and started with the DUG trade on 10/17 and brought it current. The only quirk was I split the bankroll in half when I bought EEV and DUG on 11/5 simultaneously. If the calculator is right the current balance is $15,822. This is based upon these trades:

Date Security %Profit%
10/17 DUG 2.04
10/21 DUG 2.33
10/23 DIG (1.42)
10/23-27 TWM (0.08)
10/27-28 DIG 12.72
10/31 EEV 3.86
11/5 EEV 17.50
11/5 DUG 6.00
11/10-11 FXP 4.18
11/12-13 TNA 7.74
11/17 BGU 2.19
11/17 TZA 4.83

And does not include these trades:

Date Security %Profit%
10/17 UWM 6.46
10/24-27 TWM 5.51
11/5-6 FXP 6.14
11/6 DIG 6.62
11/13 TZA 7.22
The balance for all trades, remembering that TZA on 11/13 was traded at 28% normal volume makes the current balance $20,789.

At this point my wife just wanted to know where her half was. Which I replied that I would be happy to share my nuts with her. She mumbled something and walked off.

What a clusterF. The only time I've worked this hard to make a profit was the TNA I bought and broke even on, which I'll be posting next. Well at least I'm making money, but it would be easier if I could just get a check for a few billion from the gov't.

Bought TNA 8 days ago for $30 and sold it today for $30.02. How is that for skilled trading?

The verification of trades is in the link above.

The only accomplishment is it keeps my streak of winners alive. I'll be somewhat glad to see that streak end because I think I'm pressing to keep it alive and not trading as well as I can.

One last thing, if anyone wants to post on this thread, please do. It will help me not to have to go search 5 pages whenever I have a BSP and I have my plays organized here enough where other peoples posts won't make it unreadable.

One last thing, recent events should have firmly and forever convinced you that....

Sold the FAS I bought for $14 for $25.50 for a gain of 82.14% and which will make for a Happy Thanksgiving at the Blind Squirrel's nest.

This trade is in the same "Don't tell my wife" thread. I've decided not to count this as a BSP because most posters here if they were dumb enough to follow my plays would have been tapped out after the initial purchases of TNA and FAS, so they wouldn't have had the funds Friday afternoon to make this play. Also I don't need an 82% gain messing up my 5% average and giving me the big head. So this will go in the lower section of real plays, but they don't count.

So here is the latest recap:

Date Security %Profit%
10/17 DUG 2.04
10/21 DUG 2.33
10/23 DIG (1.42)
10/23-27 TWM (0.08)
10/27-28 DIG 12.72
10/31 EEV 3.86
11/5 EEV 17.50
11/5 DUG 6.00
11/10-11 FXP 4.18
11/12-13 TNA 7.74
11/17 BGU 2.19
11/17 TZA 4.83
11/18-26 TNA 0.00
11/20-26 FAS 8.25

So that brings our balance to $16,440 for a gain of 64.4% since this board originated Oct. 17th.

And does not include these trades:

Date Security %Profit%
10/17 UWM 6.46
10/24-27 TWM 5.51
11/5-6 FXP 6.14
11/6 DIG 6.62
11/13 TZA 7.22
11/21-26 FAS 82.14

The balance for all trades is currently $26,994, which is about 170% gain in 5 weeks.

This does not include FXP which I'm currently down on.

Going forward: Two thoughts are running through my mind heading into the holiday. First, I need to do a better job, no excuses. I've had a few trades that were well executed, but I've had some trades that could have been executed much better. Second, I'm not sure what the solution is, but a few posters have indicated that they are losing money since this board was originated, so I need to figure out a way to turn that around or else we are never going to get the money to hire Vince Lombardi to be our football coach. Seriously, we need to communicate and figure out the solution so that everyone is making money and lots of it. The problem for me is while I have pretty good analytical skills, communication skills aren't very good.

I may make more trades today and Friday, but in case we don't speak before Monday, Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
