Wife and I are road tripping East in November.

Have any of you taken Highway 190 from Huntsville to Baton Rouge ?
Considering an alternate, hopefully less hectic more scenic path instead of I-10 heading to New Orleans for the first night.

You could take old 90 south out of Lafayette. Not much more scenic, but a lot less traffic. Most of that state is so flat with tall trees that none of it is terribly scenic. I didn't say ugly, but scenic is not the term for it. The bits of 190 I have driven were very rural. Lots of it were 2 lane and ag traffic is a real possibility. Stop lights in most towns.
