I love the Fairmont Banff Springs. The original building is really beautiful. There is a little museum about the history on the second level. Location is fantastic, restaurants are good, views are stunning. And it's magical in the snow and with Christmas decorations.

Top 3 (Too hard to choose 1)

- Grand Hotel Tremezzo, Lake Como
- Hotel Imperial, Vienna
- Hotel Danieli, Venice

Future stay (reserved) I'm most exited for: Explora Torres del Paine

Future trip I want to take: any of the Belmond trains (Brittanica Explorer or VSOE from Paris to Istanbul)

Amazing! Perfect time of year to be there. Are you doing the Lake District at all?

We're going as part of our 10th Anniversary Trip in May. Not peak season and will hopefully see some great fall foliage.

Cosmopolitan Vegas corner balcony was pretty nice. I bet that balcony was 100' long total. Room was massive. We used it as a meeting point for the group of 12 before going out and everyone had space to spread out and chit chat.

Marriott marquis Miami was a huge room. Like just the bedroom and bathroom were bigger than typical suite. Then it had a whole living room, kitchenette, second half bath. Main bath had a tv screen integrated into the mirror.

We had the eagles nest at the springs arenal in Costa Rica. Not a hotel room per se, as it was 3 kings and 1 queen and 4 full beds in total, with 3-4 bathrooms and a full kitchen/ living room. Private hot tub.

View of volcano from our room

1st place - JW Marriott in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
Corner room, gigantic suite, I'm surprised it didn't come with staff. Stayed there in 2025 when I went to see Guns and Roses.

2nd place - Grand Hyatt, Singapore
Huge suite with a hair dryer that I should have stolen. Upstairs from Brix. Stayed there in 2019, during the F1 because our moron sales manager from Hong Kong was unaware that there was the biggest event of the year happening in SG.

3rd place - Movenpick on Sentosa in Singapore
Probably 2013 or so. Was there for a work conference and arrived late at night so they put me up in a massive suite. That was where I fell in love with the rain shower showers.

Best pool - obviously Marina Bay Sands in Singapore

Best bar - Brix - assuming you're OK with Ukrainian chicks

Most ass kissing by staff - Zuri Whitefield, Bangalore, India

Most overserved - tie between Moxy in Munich and Moxy in Stuttgart

Most thankful staff - Fairfield Inn, Indio, CA

Honorable mention - tie between getting a corner suite at the MGM Grand by accident and staying next to the Bellagio fountains at the Cosmo when it first opened about 2011 or 2012.

No question about it
Gleneagles in Scotland.

The beauty, history and luxury.

Golf, equestrian, shooting sports and fly fishing.
The last thing I want to do is hurt you. But, it's still on the list.

I'm cheap. I'd rather spend money on doing stuff than the place I'm sleeping for a few hours. As long as its safe and where I need it to be, i rarely care about the hotel.

That said, Four Seasons Maui. I didn't pay for it, was for to 2% of the sellers worldwide at work.

Westin Convention Center at Irving. It was a good spot for the AI conference I attended earlier this year.

Stayed at a good hotel in Washington DC back in the 90s - Lenfant or something like that. I'm not sure it still has that name.

Worst "good" place I stayed was the Luxor in Vegas. What a dump.

Rayavadee - Krabi, Thailand. We had a really nice, spacious bungalow on the property. Can only be accessed by boat. Multiple beaches. Here's the infinity pool with the Andaman Sea in the distance:

Honorable mention: Four Seasons Maui

My wife is in the hotel industry so we've been spoiled with some incredible hotels. These are probably my favorites though:

  • 1st: Cameron House - on a couple hundred acres along Loch Lomond in Scotland. Its an old castle and the grounds are amazing. Sadly dont have a great pic of the hotel, but this was the view from our room.

  • T2: Alili Uluwatu and Alila Ubud in Bali. The service was incredible. Not many rooms, and they were all individual bungalows. Uluwatu on the beach and Ubud up in the jungle.

  • 3rd - Hotel Imperial in Vienna. Stunningly beautiful and the rooms felt so historic. Felt like a more authentic version of the Waldorf in DC.
  • Honorable mentions: Andaz in Maui and Little Palm Island in the Keys.

We really enjoyed the Four Season Bora Bora.

Just got back a week ago from the Four Seasons in Alexandria - was really nice and much less expensive.

Dromoland Castle in Ireland was one of the most intriguing places that we have stayed.
