Since October 2023, I've been researching the incredible stories and ultimate sacrifices of Texas Aggies killed in World War II.

I'm honored to share a major project milestone: I have located the final resting place or memorial for all 894 Texas A&M College men who gave their lives.

Their memory spans the globe, including American Battle Monuments Commission (ABMC) overseas cemeteries and Commonwealth War Graves sites across Europe, the Pacific, and North Africa:

  • Europe: Ardennes, Brittany, Cambridge, Epinal, Florence, Henri-Chapelle, Lorraine, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Normandy, Sicily-Rome
  • Pacific & Asia: Honolulu, Manila
  • North Africa & Atlantic: North African American Cemetery, East Coast Memorial
  • Commonwealth Sites: British and Allied cemeteries worldwide
  • U.S. National Cemeteries: Arlington National Cemetery, Fort Sam Houston, Fort Bliss
If you are planning a trip overseas to visit one of these cemeteries, please feel free to message me here, and I will provide you with a list of Aggies.

I've been to the one in Luxembourg and would totally go back and also to the German Solider's Cemetery nearby.

How many Aggies are buried in Luxembourg?

The St. Mihiel cemetery (WWI) is a beautiful, small cemetery that almost no one visits.

The nearby monument at Butte du Mont Sec is also worth a visit

Ok, after 3 years of research and data collection, I am creating individual pages for Aggies involved in WWII

Here is what each Aggies page will look like, with memorial info below.

Thoughts?

Awesome.

The only improvement I can think of is where you can find the text of any citations, if you added that. Probably for a Bronze Star or higher.

It's included in the second header below this one. I have a very in-depth page, including

  • A&M outfit (I have a very good list, including RV's, Band, etc)
  • Degree
  • hometown
  • Clubs and activities
  • branch
  • position
  • aircraft/vessel
  • unit
  • burial location
  • burial type
  • casualty type
