We've typically stayed at Crystal Peak Lodge in Breckenridge. It's pretty steep in price but we love the convenience to lift and sitting in steam room.

Any other destinations that are easier on budget but with similar amenities? Wouldn't mind seeing different locations, so not stuck on Breck. Understood its the busiest time, etc.

Thanks in advance.

Ski Purgatory. Great mountain. You can stay at the base for convenience but unfortunately there is hardly anything as far as restaurants, shopping, etc. at the base.

A lot of people stay in Durango which is a cool town but you gotta drive each day to ski.

Definitely much more affordable skiing and it's a great family mountain. Not as big as Breck but plenty of good runs and lifts.

Crested Butte has several options to stay right near the base of the lifts with great amenities. The Lodge at Mountaineer Square and the Elevation Hotel and Spa are a couple of good options. We had a 1BR condo at Mountaineer Square a week before Spring Break started in 2020 and it was great. Easy access to the lifts, a bus stop on the free circulator shuttle down to all the restaurants and shops in town (~15 min trip) right outside the door, ski valet service at the base of the lifts, heated pools, hot tubs, massages at the spa next door. Couldn't ask for much more.

Second rec for CB, and I'd say lodging surprisingly affordable compared to some of the other well known hills. We've always rented a ski-in/out Airbnb/VRBO right by the main lifts. Also, the Epic pass is typically cheaper for CB vs other Vail properties.
