Hey all, looking for a quick 4ish day trip in October for wife and two teen boys (13, 15). Thinking all inclusive cause they eat a lot, but doesn't have to be. Nice beach, pools, activities. Maybe a few scenic things to do off property. Any particular islands, Mexico, etc close-ish to Texas one can recommend?

Probably not Atlantis, as from personal referrals it sounds overpriced for what it is. Doesn't have to be international, and obviously probably not inclusive if so....so if any FL or whatever recs have at it. But more relaxing than driving around or having to plan every activity down to the minute. Every other vacation we do, while fun and memorable, is more work than our normal lives so would like to change it up for once. Thanks!

Just got back from Finest in Playa Mujeres. Second time with kids. They love it.

They're building a new one in Puerto Morales that opens next year.

Look it up. 4.9stars. 25,000 reviews.

It really depends on your budget but for a quick 4-day trip from Texas, I'd look at Riviera Maya/Cancn, Cozumel, or Cabo. Mexico is the easiest with short flights, great all-inclusive resorts, beautiful beaches, and plenty of off-property excursions.
Feel free to contact me; happy to recommend specific resorts based on your budget!

I think a cruise or somewhere close like Cancun area would be a good fit. My daughter loved both around that age (and still does).

Sargassum (seaweed) has been terrible this summer so a nice beach may not be overly possible in that area. Dreams Playa Mujeres generally has less seaweed but Texags clients just got back and it was happening there too so it made the chair game at the pool a pain.

I would avoid anything south of the airport. Cozumel has a few resorts but I don't feel many are really up to par with the resorts on the mainland.

Puerto Vallarta wouldn't have seaweed but the water is darker there (but you can still get in). Flights have been pretty high there.

We stayed at Alaia Belize on Ambergris Caye back in December, and I highly recommend it.

Did you do the regular plan or the all-inclusive one? If you did the AI plan, was it decent?

The off-season AI add-on wasn't that expensive, and the food and drink quality was good. It wasn't all well drinks and $5 wine. The wines were mostly Chilean and something that would go for $15-20 in the US per bottle. I don't know about their non-rum drinks since I try to stick to the local spirits when we travel, but things like Campari, Aperol, and St Germain were all included as well.

Good to know thanks! I've quoted it a few times but no one has booked.

Of the Marriott AI resorts we've stayed at, it's probably second to Sanctuary Cap Cana. The biggest complaint I'd have about Alaia is that there is no water access from the beach.
