So my dad told me that we weren't going to be able to do Alaska next summer due to him not being in a position to pay the deposits at the moment; plus we both thought a family vacation to Red River would be a better choice for all of us as my 9 y/o told us she wants to go to Alaska too, but we want to introduce her and my other children to mountain fishing in a low pressure environment first.

I grew up going to Red River but never learned how to fly, just spin casted ULs everywhere, and it will be 20 years since I've been in the summer next summer. Any recommendations for fly fishing guides, as well as hot spots? I'm assuming the bridges through town, especially near Cooper Chairlift, are still must checks. Also, are the beaver ponds outside of town still there and productive fisheries?

Also, if anybody has a recommendation for places to stay for a party of 7-9 adults plus 3 older kids and an infant that would be most welcomed. Thanks for all information!!

I've got nothing to add, but I'm curious too. Spent many summers in Red River as a kid and want to get updated info.

We were traveling in the area a few weeks ago to see our oldest in Colorado. Figured we would go up to red River for a relaxing lunch.
Lots and lots and lots of people in that town. The height of tourist season. We left and found lunch elsewhere in some other town.

For me personally, I would look for a town with fewer tourists if I were staying several nights
