Anyone been into town lately? I'm guessing zero safety concerns?

We're going to Playa Blanca in a few weeks with friends. We usually just stay at the resort but they're thinking about going into town for dinner one night. Just putting out feelers. TIA.

Just got back and sargassum was not bad at all.

Call me skeered or whatever but I don't see a need to go into town for a dinner or anything else. I'll get my culture and authentic experiences elsewhere. I go to Cancun to chill.

Playa blanca has sargassum. We are next door right now. Costa Mujeres doesn't but the entire turn North of Cancn does.

Stayed at Secrets PB & it's probably a 45 minute ride one-way to Cancun Center area. For an excursion not bad but for dinner? No way.

Should be fine going to the Plaza Las Americas area (where the roads to the hotel zone start).
