Howdy! We are looking at going to Israel in June of 27. I remember reading on here, years ago, about hiring a private guide that is local to the area and will take you to all of the Christian sites in and around Jerusalem. I'm having trouble finding any old posts that have specific recommendations. Just wondering if anyone has any personal experience with this type of trip, or any other options/ideas?

I have worked with Abercrombie & Kent (A&K) for Israel trips and they were fantastic, not the cheapest outfit but top quality service.

I know earlier this year they had not resumed operations in Israel after the war, but haven't checked lately. One of my travel agent friends (also an Aggie) recommends "Touring Israel." He swears by them.

It's been a challenging time for the tourism business owners over there and there are some political sensitivities to be mindful of, but working with someone local is the way to go.

Contact Jerusalem University College. They are a Christian Based institution of higher learning. But also offer travel courses for academic credit or personal enrichment.

Our church organized a two week visit with them. It was fabulous, but also an intensive educational experience.
