Best time of year to make a long weekend in Charleston? Won a raffle at a charity event for a nice house to stay in for a long weekend. Looking at the calendar to decide when to travel.

I'd bet Halloween weekend would be cool this year

A&M plays at SC on 11/7. We did a Charleston/SC trip two years ago and it was a blast.

I have a friend who lives there and she said her favorite time of year is the food & wine fest in March if you're looking for organized things to do while there. Obviously it'll be a bit more crowded but it's beautiful that time of year, just plan rental car, dinners, and any activities in advance.

We went in January a few years ago.

Temps were below freezing the first couple of days. But the cold kept the crowds down, and we had no trouble getting into restaurants, etc.

After a couple of days, the sun came out and the temps rose to the low 70s. Beautiful. Much easier to walk and explore than in summer humidity.

Just went the first weekend of June and it was perfection.
