How is La Cantera these days planning on taking the wife there for a staycation

Always was one of our favorite getaways when we lived in Houston. Even still we travel down from the northeast maybe every other year for a long weekend there. Got married there even

If it's just you and the wife, look into the pool by the Spa.

It's adults only and quiet and faces a hill (others face the valley). Never seen more than 20 people there, and they've got seating for three times that.

And they have a bar, too.

Wife and I really like the property. It's one of her favorite spas and I like the golf course. We were there early May. Didnt realize the property had sold to Hilton since we had last stayed, but didnt notice much difference.

Worth staying on the 7th floor for a small upgrade. It gets you access to the free happy hour, snacks and breakfast lounge up there. Also the bartender called ahead and got us seats at the nice restaurant on property (I think its called Signature, but I forget) because it was already booked up by the time we looked (2/3 weeks out).

Seats filled up really quickly at the adults pool, so snag those early.

I've been to the property a couple times in the last month or so for a spa day pass and golf and it's in great shape.

Went for a weekend in May 2025 and although the golf course was cart path only due to heavy rains it was still a great experience!
