Finally headed down next week (Playa Blanca). Any updates?

I'm curious if anyone has a report from Belize as well. We're headed there soon (Hopkins)

Had some friends just get back from dreams playa mujeres and they said seaweed was pretty bad

Belice is TERRIBLE.

The further south you go the worse it gets.

Been checking that sargassum map and looks like mujeres area has been staying pretty clear. That not accurate?

Here now, Playa Mujeres. It's a bit of a pain, kid not really having it.

Went to Playa/Isla Mujeres yesterday and it was perfect on the western side of the island. Which makes sense.

Puerto Morelos Centro beach is usually nice too. Little Closer than isla jaja .

We got off the ferry at PDC and had a nice breeze bringing this smell to us…



Look closely to the right of the tractor and you can see the workers trying to clear it out.

Here at playa mujeres now and today first day of a little bit but no problem, has been nice. Say bayou….. got any snow skis for sale on the cheap down here??? lol

I've been to Cancun twice this month. Once to secrets playa Blanca. This time headed home from Live Aqua Cancun. First pic is from our balcony there and second is on North Shore of Isla Mujeres. It most certainly changes day by day and depending on the time of day . Thought it was important to actually give photos of what it looks this week in these locations.

Glad to see that. Last time we were on Isla, it was terrible despite real efforts to clean it up.

Spot on. Just got back from Secretes Playa Blanca. Overall it would rate it as mild with some days better than others.

We're currently at the JW in Cancun, and today is a bad day. We've been here since Thursday and had one good day then and a manageable day yesterday. Today the wind has really picked up, and it's coming in thick in waves.

That's rough.

I'm not a huge beach person anyway. We usually just get chairs where we can see the water and swim in the pool between margaritas. Luckily the resort isn't crowded at all, so no issues there. They cleared the beach overnight so no smell to deal with either. I used to live in Galveston, so I'm used to dealing with it when going to the beach.

ETA: not to be totally negative, I think the turtle egg incubation they do here is really cool. They send people out on the beach early in the morning to collect eggs that were laid overnight and move them to a safe area to incubate. Unfortunately they don't release on property, because I'd love to see that.

Ok that's good, we are opposite it's beach most of the day and get in the water people. We finish the day at the pool. Glad you had a good time.

We're on Isla Mujeres right now and our whale shark guide told us about a beach down by a cemetery where the turtles go to lay eggs at night. We're going to see if we can find it tomorrow night (and obviously try to to disturb them).

Please Don't - they're Very vulnerable to light and noises. It's Not a spectator event. There are people trained to do the Job. Let them be the ones there to do it.
