We are going to Boston for sure this Summer and go to a Red Sox game for the first time where they play the Yankees because I can see that rivalry up close lol and we also may take a trip to NYC later in the Summer and if so, I'm going to go to a Yankees game just to cross it off the list. We've been to NYC several times so I know how all that works but any advice on the Yankee game, mostly where should I sit? I can see the actual game from any seat but what sections or area would give the coolest experience? And the same question for a Red sox game in Boston? Also any cool food or drink suggestions at either park or anything else I should know? Thanks!

Don't have seat advice for Yankee stadium but take the train to the game (obviously) and check out the bars along River Ave pregame, I think Stan's is one of the most popular. Good way to hang out pregame.

You'll be able to see from anywhere at yankee stadium, its well designed "newer" stadium. Bleachers most passion, rest is now expensive so it feels soulless.

I prefer citi field over it personally,

Cool those are good suggestions. We're going to Boston strictly to check out a Red Sox game but we're going to NY for the rest of NY and just marking off the Yankee game while we're there in town so I know it's not nearly as cool as Fenway. But I'm still excited to see it.

The one Yankees game i went to was fun. Playoff game against Cleveland the year Judge was setting records. I think in 2022. Definitely take the subway. We sat in one of the middle levels 200 or 300 along the third base side. That had a good view of the video board.

I've been inside Fenway and ate at the restaurant in the outfield but haven't been to a game.

Mets games are fun too. More laid-back and easier to get in and out. But takes a while to ride out there.

At Fenway, if you get a chance for green monster tickets, get them. The sections right next to the monster in left field are also pretty great.

The seats in Fenway don't all face home plate. They face straight ahead. There are also some obstructed views. Generally deep right field is the worst for this. It's not terrible but people do sometimes call it out after their first Sox game.

I was at the Yankees game last year on 4th of July, or close to it. It was the game they had post game fireworks. It was fun and everyone was in a good mood. If 4th of July works for you, I'd recommend it.

It's been a long time since I went to Fenway. I got expensive seats behind Home Plate but because the stadium is so old the seating is a bit odd. I believe I was at a strange angle relative to the action and other fans, so you should definitely try to research where the best seats are. It's not perfectly spaced and oriented towards the field the way modern stadiums are. If I recall correctly I was slightly in the first base side of home but my seat was oriented to face "behind" home plate, almost towards the third base side fans rather than our towards HO/pitchers mound/etc as you'd expect. It was still fun of course but I did feel like I overpaid.

I did a Boston/NY trip years ago and did tickets in the outfield for both and it was good energy even though it wasn't a rivalry for either one.
I remember the food at Yankee stadium was pretty mediocre. Fenway had one of the best hot dogs I've ever had.

The neighborhood around Fenway is kind of like Wrigleyville in Chicago. There are bars, restaurants, and gift shops all in the surrounding neighborhood to visit. I've seen Sox/Yanks at Fenway and the energy is fantastic in and around the stadium.

Be careful and avoid any tickets with an obstructed view. It could be minimal or you could be sitting directly behind a giant steel beam. Google those seats. The pics are kind of funny. I sat behind home plate about halfway up. Incredible seats but the guy across the aisle from me had a 2-foot wide steel beam in front of him. Oh, and even the nice seats are small and uncomfortable. It truly is like stepping into a time capsule.

You're going to be shocked at how small the stadium concourse is. The place is 113 years old and sill feels it. It isn't at all like any modern facility in any way. You aren't going to show up 90 minutes before game time and wander through the stadium for an hour, eat at a restaurant, wade through a half-dozen memorabilia shops, etc. The place is tiny. By contrast, Wrigley Field is only two years "younger" but has gone through several renovations. It feels modern and spacious by comparison.

I hate baseball in general, but loved the Fenway experience and developed a better appreciation for the sport after going there.

They offer tours, I highly recommend looking into that.

Outside of Fenway, Boston has a lot to offer for a long weekend. Enjoy!

Cool! Did you get your hot dog at a normal concession stand or an independent vendor in the concourse or something? I'm interested in it lol.

How long ago did you go to Yankees Stadium? I thought the food was pretty good last summer and you can order it to your seat with an app or website - I think there's a QR code at the seats. I don't remember it being amazing but it was pretty good, and I know they have some partnerships with NYC restaurants as well.

Bleacher Bar before the game is fun - they open up the door that looks onto the field during pregame warmups/batting practice

It was just regular concessions for that one. Even my wife liked it and she generally hates ballpark food unless it's popcorn or ice cream.
