Heading to the Hill Country (Bandera) for a few days with the wife and kids (2.5 year old boy and a 3 mo.) and thought about extending a couple days to head out to Big Bend area. Wife and I have backpacked Big Bend and we really enjoy the area. Was thinking about doing a couple of nights at either Lajitas or Cibolo Creek. We have been to Lajitas but not Cibolo. Any recommendations between the two? I know this is a lot of driving from Houston, so thinking of this as a mini road trip type of vacation.

Cibolo is really nice and relaxing. Lajitas has the golf and a bigger night life. With youngsters in tow I would say it's up to you. I view Cibolo as a romantic getaway more than a family spot.
