We are going to Paris later this year. It will be my wife and our 9 year old daughter. Tips on places to stay? We are looking at the Waldorf or Hotel De Crillion, but open to suggestions. Also tips on things to do, places to eat, etc would be greatly appreciated. We are staying for about a week, so we would be open to doing day trips, seeing other parts of France, etc.

I stayed at the Relais Christine - www.relaischateaux.com - on the Left Bank in July 2022. It is a beautiful boutique hotel with a fabulous breakfast each morning. The rooms - we had two - were like little jewel boxes. Soooo beautiful and quintessentially French!

I was there with my daughter and one of her friends when the girls were 17. We did all of the normal tourist-y things as it was the girls' first time in Paris. They loved the Louvre - particularly the apartments. Really liked Sainte Chapelle as well, riverboat tour, day trip to Versailles. I was on a mission to have the girls learn how to use public transportation, so one afternoon they looked up a list of the best macarons in Paris, then navigated us to probably 15 different stops by foot, Metro, etc. An unexpected highlight that I mentioned on another recent Paris thread was a food tour of Montmartre. We used Secret Food Tours and were very pleased, though there are many companies to choose from.

If your family is active I would highly recommend Fat Tire Tours which was is a bike company started by an Aggie. I also have the best Photographer in Paris if you are interested in family photos. I'm include some for reference.

Look at staying in an airbnb. we just did and it was awesome. Our street in the Marias was fantastic with great bakery, butcher, wine and candy ships along with a bunch of restaurants.

We had an amazing dinner at Cafe Varenne. Absolutely need to get a ham and butter sandwich from anyone that sells them.

we stayed here. There are literally hundreds of places available in the Marias on Airbnb. This place fit our needs nicely. It is small - the kitchen and lounge area is all one room. The doors to the bedrooms are off that room. But it had been redone and was perfect for our group of four adults.
