Any recommendations on places to stay for 7? Would like close to ski areas and other fun things to do. 3 kids aged 6-12.

Don't be afraid to stay in Old Town. The town lift is great and Main St is full of shops, restaurants and bars including a live theatre. Woodward Park City is great for tubing with the kids.

We stayed in a condo right on main Street. It had 2 rooms and a huge living area with pull out couches, I assume 7 could stay there.

Address of the condo community is 950 Park Ave. But there are a ton of condos/houses like that on/near downtown.

I like that area because that's where all the food and bars and shopping are, and there's the town lift you can take rather than going over to the base lifts.

The last thing I want to do is hurt you. But, it's still on the list.

We usually stay in Old Town or outside of main street, mainly because it's cheaper and can find some bigger properties/houses to fit larger a group. Will all depend on your budget and what kind of configuration you're wanting.

We loved Woodward for snow tubing and we ski mountain village and love it! Canyons is nice for skiing also but for more experienced skiers, in my opinion.
The mountain coaster is awesome, and the flying eagle zipline. Last year, we did snowmobiling out in Oakley and it was super fun.

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or need help trying to find accommodations!

Pray for snow. They're having one of the worst years on rcord. They should get about a foot between yesterday and the end of the week but that still puts them at about -48 inches below average.

Any truth to the rumors that the lifts were not open due to union strikes/staffing issues?

What else is there to do in lieu of skiing? I work in EMS and cannot easily change my PTO days.

Ski Rental - Charter Sports

Dining - Zachs Cabin & Ti Amo - Lots of great spots in Edwards on Riverwalk, too. Rocky Mountain Taco too. Coyote Cafe for Margs. Blue Moose or Gndola for Pizza. Nozawa in Avon or Sato in Edwards for sushi. Village Bagel / Avon Bakery for Breakfast along w little dinner or the place in Edwards that's a Number that's the same place as Sato. On mountain Golden Eagle or Osprey.

Lodging - Westin or Sheraton (walkable to Riverside Gndola) or Bach Gulch on anything BC Village. If you go Borders Lodge or Charter lmk and I can ask the GM to give you a deal. Avoid Arrowhead. If you go LSL in Vail lmk. I used to do those Properties accounting.

If you rent from Charter BC or Charter for skis, I can get you a discount.

So sorry just saw this. Where are You staying? Book through Charter Sports and then give me the name and Reservation Number and I'll text the manager of whatever store you choose and ask/tell them to give you the friends and family. It's 50% vs 30% off online. Outdoor Board can attest to it. I've done it for dozens of people. It's a good hack when you have 4-5-6 skiers for 3-4 days each. Probs can get you helmets for free too and up graded to demo for the performance price too if you want.

If the strike isn't over, get a refund on your PC tickets and go to Deer Valley. Was there this weekend with the family and it was the worst ski day I have ever had. Deer Valley was great as always.

I have a client in PC now and there are no issues. No doubt with more people on holiday weekends it would be awful.

We will be rolling the dice for an early February trip to PC.

I'm in PC right now, ski patrol is back to work, snow is great and they just opened 20 new runs with great soft snow today, it was great. Looks like we'll be getting another storm Fri night and through Sat which should be awesome before I have to head back Sun.

TLDR: 0/10 DO NOT USE CHARTER SPORTS IN BEAVER CREEK/VAIL!!

Got back from skiing Beaver Creek last night and wanted to share my experiences using Charter Sports to rent ski equipment from. The company is under new ownership resulting in the following experience.

Issue #1

Arrived at the store at 6:00 PM on Thursday to pick up equipment to find the doors locked and lights off. Posted hours say they are open until 7. Staff said they do not have set business hours saying they close down if it gets slow.

Issue #2. Show up the next day to pick up equipment. The process was extremely slow taking 90 minutes considering we booked ahead of time thinking it would be smooth, efficient process.

Issue #3. During checkout on pickup day, staff tried to increase price despite already paying online.

Issue #4. During drop off, show up before early drop off time (1PM) to avoid being charged another daily rental fee, only staff member present, starts ranting that he is off the clock, no one else is here, that he needs to leave, that since we skied in the morning, we will be charged an extra daily rental fee. Staff calls manager on phone continuing rant about being off the clock etc and that this is not his problem to fix. During back and forth with the manager on speaker phone, manager states that she does not care and just do whatever.

Posted on your thread on the OB Board. Thats my shop…

Cliff notes: I've posted the hours below..

It probably took a long time because you're probably a larger group (5 or more) that they preteched and you ended up not using what was preteched so that had to pull and size and retech everything .

You don't get charged until you leave the store so you hadnt paid online already. That's not how it works. You also probs got charged more because you didn't use the package that was reserved which also follows w why they had to spend more time getting your gear ready on the day you picked up. Those 2 go hand in hand.

the drop off time for skis to not be charged is 9:00am not 1pm.
