Second for Cafe Monarch.

Also a recommendation for Nobu, which although it's a chain, is fantastic. Last time we ate there in August, Trea Turner from the Phillies was sitting at the table next to us.

In retrospect I should've griped at him, since the Phillies lost 3 of 4 games vs the DBacks on that trip.

There's also a restaurant on the top of the Talking Stick Resort/Casino called Orange Sky, that's pretty solid, and has great sunset views. They have private enclosed tables in one area, but those go pretty quick, especially you'll be there during the high season (i.e. when the weather's better and all of the snowbirds and tourists return).

We were there a few years ago and really enjoyed a little Italian place called Etta and the Mexican food restaurant La Hacienda at the Fairmont was good

Etta is great. Also Rinaldi's deli in North Scottsdale has the best breakfast burrito I've ever had. For seafood in the desert, Buck & Rider is phenomenal

Vecina. Not sure if it's Scottsdale, but it's Phoenix

Had brunch this morning at Volanti, which overlooks the runway at Scottsdale Airport, with the McDowell Mountains in the background. Very good food, and a solid drink called a "WTF" - Michters Bourbon, bitters, luxardo cherry, orange twist.

My friend opened a Japanese American Bistro in Phoenix last year.

While not in Scottsdale proper, it's close and definitely worth considering. It was voted one of the 10 best new restaurants in Phoenix and one of the most beautiful new restaurants opened in America in 2023.

More Paradise Valley, but JTs has killer wings. I've always wanted to check out the Merkin in Old Town, but have had the chance yet. Montauk for people watching.

We ate at Cafe Monarch last night for our anniversary. My wife has to take photos every time she eats, so here's a sample:
