Making a trip mainly for dinner at Per Se so one night of three is covered. Staying in midtown by the park. Other restaurants/bars/museums or interesting things we need to put on the list?

Keen's Steakhouse. Not the best steak in NYC, but a damn good one, but the Mutton chop is phenomenal. Obviously cannot get that cut most places, but the place is just so much fun. More of a bar room atmosphere.

Campbell Apt is a cool cocktail bar inside Grand Central.

Overstory in FiDi is a great place for rooftop cocktails if it's not too cold on 64th floor, 360 degree views. In the same building is Saga 2** on 63rd floor and Crown Shy 1* all started by James Kent, who sadly passed unexpectedly this summer. James Beard Best Chef In NY Charlie Mitchell is taking over at Saga. We had drinks at Crown Shy waiting for space at Overstory and they were all fantastic, would have done food but we were going late night for hot dogs at PDT, also a cool spot and the best cocktails I've ever had.

Adding - should stop in to Fraunces Tavern as well when you're in LM to say you drank where George Washington did.

My favorite thing we did was a Harbor Boat tour through Classic Harbor Line tours, drinks and food at Cookshop in Chelsea beforehand, easy walk to Pier.

My favorite cookie place is Levain Bakery at 167 W 74th St
A great Sushi place is Izakaya MEW at 53 W 35th St
You can't go wrong with a treat from Magnolia Bakery with multiple locations around the city

Museums that are a must is the 9/11 Museum I would make sure to a lot several hours here. Also the American Museum of Natural History is great

One of the most underrated activities to do in Manhattan is to find the small dive bars. Mostly locals rather than tourists. Quintessential experience. Even better over in Brooklyn.

As a previous poster mentioned, Levain Bakery cookies are unreal. They do have multiple locations in Manhattan, not just on 74th Street.

Crown Shy in Fidi has good food, but we had a bad service experience there. The server constantly tried to upsell us on everything. It's fairly expensive generally, but if we had gone with all her recommendations our bill would have more than doubled. Once the server realized we weren't biting on the upsells, there was a noticeable decline in service. Reviews we read after our experience confirm ours wasn't isolated.

My parents just spent a week to do a broadway night and a night at the US Open. Pretty sure my dad was never out of a bar for longer than 30 minutes the entire trip. They had a good time.
