Wife and daughter flew to NYC in January. Wife's checked bag didn't make the flight for some reason. Was told by United rep that they would deliver the bag to hotel that afternoon. My daughter tracked the bag and the delivery driver spent 3 hours at a mosque on his way from the airport. He didn't deliver the bag until the next day.

United gave us a very nice credit because of this.
hopefully the chode lost his job too.

Had some "fun" with SWA last week. DCA to HOU, delayed due to weather in Tampa. Plane was going TPA to Chicago to DC. 5 hour delay, but done 10 minutes at a time on the app. I don't know why they wouldn't just tell us the full truth. Finally got to HOU at 1:30, but they couldn't connect the jetway to the plane for some reason. Everyone had to put their carry on's back i the bins and buckle up to another gate. Finally walked off the plane at 2:05am.

Flew from IAH to Vancouver for a cruise and then the return flight was from Anchorage. 4+ hours on the first and 6+ hours on the second. The back seat entertainment didn't work on either flight.

Thankfully, the unitedwifi worked on the return and my Kindle barely had enough juice left to watch 3 movies.

Had a 737-800 on the outbound and 737max8 on the return.

Wife & daughter flew on UA from PHX to BKK via SFO and SIN on Sunday. Due to all the construction at SFO, UA lost some of their normal gates, so they had to park at TA which required them to go through security to get to TG. They boarded their flight to SIN on time, and then they sat there at the gate for 1.5 hrs due to a technical issue, and then because one runway is closed it took them forever to taxi and take off. They only had a 2 hr layover scheduled at SIN, and they were on the last flight to BKK that day, but fortunately there were agents waiting for them to de-plane and escort them from T2 to T1 to catch their Thai Airways flight to BKK. Of course, their baggage didn't make it, but they got it delivered the next day.

That Anchorage->IAH route is brutal on a 737. Too uncomfortable for that length of flight. I don't think we had a max, and they are a little better, but United's 737 configuration seems more cramped to me than Southwest.

We splurged for the up front seats so it was manageable.

I'm doing this in August but flying into Seattle. First class from IAH to SEA, but it's 1100 per person additional to go from my economy plus seats to first class. Yikes.

I think we got the last week in May before the summer price increase hit for up north.
